  • PCMH Auxiliary fall gathering Friday

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will have its annual fall membership gathering Friday.
    The meeting will start at 9 a.m. in the hospital cafeteria. Breakfast will be served. Members and anyone interested is encouraged to take any family members or friends who would be interested in hearing more about the group.

  • Flu shot clinics next week

    TELL CITY – The offices of Drs. Marcrum, Bailey and Kleeman will host a flu-shot clinic Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
    Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with offices closed from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
    The flu vaccine costs $30. For more information, call Phone 547 9663, Ext. 1.

  • VFD open house Sunday

    ST. MEINRAD – The St. Meinrad Volunteer Fire De-partment, in conjunction with the Early Days Antique Club, will host its annual open house Sunday.
    Chicken and pork-chop dinners will be served from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with hamburgers, desserts and ice cream available during the day. Raffle chances will be sold during the day with a $1,000 first-place prize.
    A Life Flight helicopter will land next to the firehouse at 11 a.m. with a kiddie tractor pull sponsored by Heritage Hills FFA beginning at the same time.

  • Knot a Coffee Shop ribbon-cutting set

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon- cutting for the Knot a Coffee Shop at 11 a.m. Friday to celebrate the newly opened business. The Knot a Coffee Shop is located at 431 Main St. in Tell City and opened Aug. 16.
    Owners of Knot a Coffee Shop are Andrea Gaynor and Tyler Roberts.  They offer a menu that includes breakfast all day, soft pretzels, fresh-fruit smoothies, bagel burgers, pretzel burgers, chicken salad, grilled cheese and assorted fries.

  • Rome Fall Fest plans set

    ROME – The Rome Community Center (the Old Courthouse at Rome) is preparing for the Fall Festival set for Oct. 2.
    Serving will begin at 11 a.m. with a fried chicken dinner complete with dessert and drink. A concession stand will be available outside through out the day.
    Danny Burns will sing gospel music from 10:30 to 11 a.m. He will be followed by music from the Nashville Revue with Ray Reed and band starting at noon.
