    Moose Lodge to sell barbecue dinners Friday
    TELL CITY – Tell City Moose Lodge 1424 will sell barbecued-chicken and pork-chop dinners Friday, May 2, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at 12th and Tell streets.

    Dinners will include half a chicken or a 1¼-inch thick pork-chop with creek-fried potatoes and green beans. Cost is $8 a plate.

    William Tell Center sale Friday
    TELL CITY – An indoor garage sale will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday May 2. Biscuits and gravy and coffee will be available.

    TELL CITY – The Twilight Towers Tenant Council met April 16 with President Joyce Richardt presiding.

    April birthdays were Ruth Loney, Enid Kessner, Charlotte Ward, Donny Stein, Leroy VanWinkle, Grover Gray, Leoma Welsh, Helen Stiles, Annie Tate, Marty Oberhausen, Peg Hawhee, Elizabeth Simpson, Rose Zeiglegruber and Anna Applegate.

    There will be no carry-in dinner for residents in May.

    A reminder was given about the annual yard sale Saturday, May 10, starting at 7 a.m. in the dining room at 1648 10th St.

    Historical Society trivia today

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society invites everyone to join them for Tell City trivia during their meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, April 28. Resident Bill Simpson plans to challenge attendees with questions about things they weren’t aware they needed to know about Tell City.

    Monday bingo at American Legion

    CANNELTON – In addition to its regular Friday-night bingo, the Legion will host an additional Monday-night bingo May 5, 12 and 19, starting at 6 p.m.

    William Tell Center supper, dance Friday
    TELL CITY – The William Tell Center at 1301 11th St. in Tell City will host a chili supper and dance Friday, April 25, at the center.

  • Clear the clutter, support local students and seniors

    TELL CITY – Spring is the time for deep cleaning and purging homes of clutter and items that are no longer needed or wanted. The Perry Central and Tell City High School Band Booster clubs will be glad to take those gently used items and turn them into money students can use for their band.

    The William Tell Center at 1301 11th St. will also accept items to raise money for their activities for seniors.

  • Weaving workshop at Shubael Friday

    TELL CITY – A workshop for people interested in the art of weaving will be held at the Shubael Little Pioneer Village at 9 a.m. Friday, April 25.
    The community workshop will be conducted by professional weaver Joe Burch of the Louisville area, who produces both utilitarian ware and art objects on the loom.

    THE TCHS CLASS OF 1966 GAL PAL LUNCH will be held at noon Thursday, May 8, at The Patio restaurant in Tell City.

    THE TCHS CLASS OF 1971 will meet at 6 p.m. today at The Post restaurant in Tell City.

    THE PCMH AUXILIARY BOARD will meet at  9 a.m.. Friday, May 2, 2014 in Conference Room C at the hospital.

    LEOPOLD – Perry Central Football Families will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 in the high-school study-hall room.

    Oakwood to honor volunteers Wednesday
    TELL CITY – Oakwood Health Campus will host a volunteer recognition celebration for all community volunteers in honor of National Volunteer Week.
    The event will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in the assisted living dining area.

  • Ghost-hunt Saturday

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Ghost Hunters will have a novice hunt for individuals interested in paranormal activity that are not part of an organized team. TCGH will provide equipment. The hunt will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Only 10 advanced tickets at $20 per person. For details, send email to tcgh2012@aol.com.
     

  • TC Chair Co. reunion May 4

    TELL CITY – Former Tell City Chair Co. employees will have the opportunity for the first time since the company closed to gather and reminisce. Employees, spouses and children of employees are invited to attend.

    The reunion is planned for Sunday, May 4, at the Tell City Depot from 1 to 4  p.m. A group photo will be taken at 2 p.m. and refreshments will be served.
