  • Annual 3-on-3 Power of Youth co-ed basketball tourney April 6

    PERRY COUNTY – The Perry County Power of Youth Council is hosting a 3-on-3 basketball tourney for the following age groups: junior high grades 6-8; senior-high grades 9-12 and adults out of high school. 
    The tourney is a fundraiser for the Power of Youth Grant Cycle, which will focus on youth and wellness. The tourney will be held April 6, beginning at 9 a.m. at William Tell Elementary School.  Registration is $25 per team with a maximum of four people on a team.

  • Firearms expo Feb. 16

    TELL CITY – Perry County 4-H Shooting Sports organization will host a firearms exposition from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Perry County 4-H Fairgrounds. The expo is display only and there is no cost to attend.

  • Indiana boater-ed course announced

    JASPER – Indiana conservation officers will sponsor a boater education class from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9 at the Jasper Moose Family Center, 2507 Newton Street in Jasper.
    Topics to be covered include boating basics, navigation, boating laws, personal watercraft operation, water safety, personal flotation devices and more.

  • Relay for Life of Perry County to kickoff fundraising efforts for 2013

    TELL CITY – From 5:50 to 7 p.m. Feb. 18, the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Perry County will officially get underway as event volunteers and participants gather at United Methodist Church, 702 10th St. in Tell City, for a kickoff celebration to launch their fundraising efforts for the year.

    TELL CITY – Tell City Junior-Senior High School will offer a yoga class from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the school’s auxiliary gym.

  • Indiana Youth Institute reducing environmental hazards for children

    MARENGO – The environment where children learn and play can significantly impact their health because on a pound for pounds basis, children breathe more air, drink more water and eat more food than adults.
    The Indiana Youth Institute will host a forum that will explore how to be more aware of environmental threats as children’s behaviors expose them to more chemicals through crawling, putting items in their mouths and playing on the floor.

  • After prom plans chili lunch, dodgeball tourney

    TELL CITY – Tell City After Prom will host a fun-filled afternoon Feb. 10 at Tell City Junior-Senior High School to benefit the high-school after prom. 
    A dodgeball tourney and chili lunch will be held, with serving starting at 11 a.m. The meal will include chili, a hot dog or chili dog, des-sert and drink. Cost is $7.
