    Twilight Towers yard sale May 13


    TELL CITY – The Twilight Towers annual yard sale will be held on Saturday, May 13, starting at 7 a.m. in the dining room, 1648 10th St. Tell City.

    Included in the yard sale will be a biscuits and gravy breakfast, bake sale and quilt fundraiser. A full order of breakfast will be $2.50, and a half order will cost $1.25.


    German American blood drive May 31


    TELL CITY – German American will host a blood drive Wednesday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the second-floor conference room in German American’s 645 Main St. location. The drive is open to the public.

  • Perry County Special Olympics to return for 50th year May 6

    TELL CITY – Special Olympics Perry County and St. Meinrad Archabbey/Cooperative Action for Community Development Inc. will host its 50th annual track and field and bocce meet at 9 a.m. on May 6 at Legion Field in Tell City.

    “Everyone is welcome to attend this event,” said Vicky Lutgring, Special Olympics Perry County, County Coordinator. “Please come out and meet some of our outstanding areas Special Olympians!”

  • Kiwanis selling barbecue and Coke to benefit youth

    TELL CITY – Tell City Kiwanians are taking orders for their Coca-Cola and their Hog Daddy Days Barbeque fundraisers. Delicious barbecue prepared by Bill and Dave’s Smokin’ Pit and Coke products, including Powerade and water, may be ordered from any Kiwanian or by contacting Kiwanis President Brian Fletcher at his office at American Family Insurance, 646 Main St. in Tell City, by calling (812) 566-3057 or at (812) 620-3848.

    The Tell City Kiwanis Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth.

  • Low-cost spay and neuter clinic in May

    CANNELTON – Perry County Animal Shelter will host a low-cost spay and neuter clinic May 31. Dogs under 85 pounds will cost $60 and cats $40. Rabies vaccines will be $10 unless vaccinated in past 12 months.

    Dogs and/or cats from low-income Indiana families will cost 20. Space is limited. To register, pet owners must visit the animal shelter and register before May 11. Payment is due at the time of registration. Surgery date is May 31.

    GERMAN RIDGE – The Hoosier National Forest will sponsor the annual Tell City Ranger District Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 20, at German Ridge Recreation Area near Rome. Forest Service staff want to get families outdoors, and get kids hooked on fishing and enjoying the great outdoors.

    VFW serving breakfast Saturday


    TELL CITY – Veterans of Foreign Wars 2939 will host a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at the post home. Scrambled eggs will be served or diners can get eggs made to order. Cost is $7, which includes tax. Carryout meals will be available. The public is invited.

  • Lincoln Day Luncheon set for Saturday

    TELL CITY – The annual Perry County Lincoln Day Luncheon will be held Saturday, April 29, at the 4-H fairgrounds in Tell City.

    Doors will open at 11 a.m., with the meal at noon. Tickets are $15 per person.

    Special guests will include state attorney general Curtis Hill, Secretary of State Connie Lawson, State Rep. Lloyd Arnold and State Sen. Erin Houchin.

  • Lincoln-Reagan Dinner Saturday

    SANTA CLAUS – The annual Spencer County Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner will be Saturday, April 29, in the Celebration Room at Santa’s Lodge in Santa Claus.

    Doors will open at 5 p.m. with meal served at 6. Tickets are $20 each and $10 for students.

    Featured guests at the event will include Indiana Attorney General Burtis Hill and U.S. Congressman Larry Bucshon.
