    Cancer support meeting Tuesday

     

    TELL CITY – A local cancer support group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. every Tuesday in Fellowship Hall at the Evangelical United Church of Christ.

    Cancer survivors, cancer patients, family members and caregivers are welcome.

     

    Next Horseman’s club euchre game set for Jan. 30

     

    TELL CITY – The Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host euchre games throughout fall and winter.

  • Hoosier National Forest looking for photos

    TELL CITY – Grab a camera or smart phone and visit the Hoosier National Forest to capture a few great shots. The Forest Service is sponsoring a photo contest and everyone is a winner when they get outdoors and have fun taking pictures.

    There are several ways to submit your photos, you can share your best pictures with the hashtag, #capturetheforest, or you can email the photos to Stacy Duke at sduke@fs.fed.us.

  • Library program lets you “check out” state parks

    PERRY COUNTY – In 2016, Hoosiers can check out state parks by checking out an entrance pass from a public library. The State Park Centennial Annual Pass Library Check out Program is a partnership between Indiana State Parks and the Indiana State Library to encourage people to visit libraries and parks.

  • Next Parents’ night out event Feb. 13

    TELL CITY – Perry Childcare will host a parents night out Saturday, Feb. 13, from 6 p.m. to midnight.  Children ages 6 weeks to 12 years will be welcome.

    Those wishing to participate should make reservations within two days in advance and must fill out required paperwork.

    Knits and Knots first meeting of 2016 Thursday

     

    TELL CITY – Knits and Knots will start up again in January.

    The group will meet Thursday, Jan. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Tell City First United Methodist Church.

    Those who already knit or crochet hats and scarves are welcome to join the group. Those who have always wanted to learn can swing by the meeting.

    Participants are told to take needles or crochet hooks and the group will supply the yarn.

  • 4-H launches new Spark Clubs

    PERRY COUNTY – Youth in grades 3-12 now have a new way to have fun while learning practical, hands-on skills in 4-H Spark Clubs.

    These clubs have a single focus and meet for a total of six hours or more. The clubs are highly interactive and are designed to spark an interest in a subject.

    Contact the Purdue Extension-Perry County office at (812) 547-7084 to enroll. There is an annual $20 4-H Enrollment fee.
