  • American Colloid’s annual Run for Your Mother 5K set for May 10

    TELL CITY – The annual Run for Your Mother is only a few weeks away and registrations are now being accepted for runners and walkers planning to participate.

    This fun run-walk 5K will begin at 8 a.m. Mother’s Day morning, Sunday, May 10, in front of the Tell City Depot. 

  • Fifth annual Dale Car Show to return Sunday, April 26

    DALE – Mark your calendars now for the fifth annual Dale Car Show, returning to Dale Town Park, also known as Heichelbeck Park, Sunday, April 26.

    Located along Wallace and East Medcalf Streets in Dale, the event draws hundreds of visitors with their prized automobiles, from antiques and souped-up rods to motorcycles and snazzy pick-up trucks, for hundreds of viewers to enjoy.

  • The Fuse is Already Lit in concert April 25 at Cannelton Community Center

    CANNELTON – The city of Cannelton continues to draw well-known entertainers for concerts that are normally held in much larger communities.

    The Fuse is Already Lit, with Ricky Gunn, will be in concert Saturday, April 25, at the Cannelton Community Center. Activities are planned from 4 to 11 p.m. and the event is open to all ages.

    Born and raised outside of Columbus, Ga., Ricky Gunn grew up like many southern boys, spending his time fishing, hunting, chasing girls and speeding down dirt roads.

  • Family Nature Fest scheduled for April 18 at Ferdinand State Forest

    FERDINAND – Celebrate the arrival of spring by attending the third annual Family Nature Fest Saturday, April 18 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Ferdinand State Forest. Several events are scheduled throughout the morning. Professional foresters will be present to answer forestry questions.

  • Registration open for Small Steps to Wellness

    LEOPOLD – The Small Steps to Wellness second-annual fun run-walk, hosted by Stepping Stones Preschool, will be held Saturday, April 18.

    Organizers invite the community to participate in this family-friendly event. All money raised will support our Small Steps to Wellness program with a portion going the Perry Central High School Baseball Team. This event directly benefits youth and their families in rural Perry County.

    The race will begin and end at Stepping Stones Preschool, 18020 Lafayette Street in Leopold. 

  • Plans in place for seventh annual Tour of Tables

    ROCKPORT – The seventh annual Tour of Tables, a fundraiser for The Way of Rockport, is scheduled for April 16. 

    This year, organizers decided to add a silent auction to the event. Supporters are visiting area businesses to solicit donations of auctionable items for this good cause.

    This year’s event will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Rockport. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with a tour of tables and silent auction. The auction will close at 6:30 p.m. as dinner is served.

  • Community Events; April 9

    Moose Lodge dinners available Friday

     

    TELL CITY – Tell City Moose Lodge 1424 will sell barbecue-chicken and pork-chop dinners beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, at the corner of 12th and Tell streets. Cost is $8 per plate and includes a meal of a half of a chicken or a 1¼ inch thick pork chop, creek-fried potatoes and green beans.
