  • Horseman’s club fun show set for Saturday

    TELL CITY – Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club will host a fun horse show and benefit at 5 p.m. Saturday at the club, located on Summer Road north of Tell City.
    Follow the signs approximately 5 miles north on Indiana 37 to reach the club.
    There will be games for all ages, providing fun for all participants and spectators. There will be some bleacher seating available but lawn chairs are recommended.

  • Financial Peace classes start Sunday

     TELL CITY – Nearly one and a half million families have been able to change their financial situation through Financial Peace University, the 13-week course taught by Dave Ramsey on DVD.
    FPU teaches families and individuals common-sense principles like how to make a plan with their money so they are able to free themselves of debt and build lasting wealth. FPU is available for churches, military, nonprofit agencies and businesses.

  • Retirement party for Bill Feldpausch

    TELL CITY – Bill Feldpausch, who has been cutting hair in the area for more than 60 years, will be laying down his clippers.
    A retirement celebration will be held for Feldpausch from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Harpenau Insurance Agency parking lot in Tell City.
    The public is invited and encouraged to attend to say thanks and to share stories. Food and soft drinks will be provided.

  • St. Pius annual fall fest Sept. 11

    TROY – St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy will have its annual fall festival Sunday, Sept. 11.
    On the menu is the parish’s “famous soup” by the bowl and gallon, fried-chicken or roast-beef dinners, hamburgers, polish sausage, ice cream and homemade pie.
    Entertainment will include a live band, a giant yard sale and flea market, games for adults and children and a raffle.
    Serving begins at 11 a.m. Take your own container for carry-out soup.

    Special Olympics car wash Saturday
    TELL CITY – Special Olympics Perry County will have a car wash at Evans Tire from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

  • Friends of the Library to host annual book sale

    TELL CITY – The Friends of the Tell City-Perry County Public Library will hold their annual book sale at the library, 2328 Tell St., from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
    A special preview sale for Friends of the Library members only will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday. New memberships will be accepted before and during this special sale. Applications for membership are available at the library and on the library’s Web site, www.tcpclibrary.org. Annual dues are $5 for individuals and $10 for a family.

  • Masonic lodge picnic Sunday

    BRANCHVILLE – Branchville Masonic Lodge 496 will hold its annual family picnic at the Harold Lynch Homeplace Sunday.
    Dinner will start at 1 p.m. Hamburgers, bratwursts and hot dogs will be provided. Those attending are asked to take a covered dish.
    Music and games will also be available during the day.

  • Silly Safari to appear at Tell City library Wednesday

    TELL CITY – Silly Safari’s “Amazon John” will visit the Tell City-Perry County Public Library Aug. 10 to present a patriotic show, “Yacky Doodle Dandy – All American Animals.”
    Children will enjoy the “close-up connections” with Amazon John’s unusual critters and the stories that accompany each one, library staff said.
    Parents and children are encouraged to arrive early for best seating.
    The show begins at 6 p.m. and is being sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
