    Pearl Harbor Day breakfast Dec. 7

     

    TELL CITY – A Pearl Harbor Day breakfast for veterans will be served from 7 to 10 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 7, at American Legion Post 213. The free event, open to all veterans, is being sponsored by Ladies Auxiliary United 213.

    Transitional housing benefit Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – The Concerned Citizens for Drug Recovery group will host a chili supper, bake sale and silent auction Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m.

    Meals will include a peanut butter sandwich and drink for $8.

    A guest speaker will take the podium at 6:30 and the auction will begin at 7. The event will take place at Evangelical United Church of Christ.

  • Shubael Little Village candlelit tour Dec. 9

    ROCKY POINT – The sixth annual Shubael Little Pioneer Village Candle Light tour will be held Saturday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 8 p.m.

    Step back in time 150 years ago and visit the homes of Perry County settlers who celebrated the Christmas season, as many today wish we still did. Enjoy a feast for the senses - interact with re-enactors, hear live music, and share light food and warm drinks from the period, warmed over the crackling of open hearths and wood stoves.

  • Live nativity scene in Tell City Dec. 9

    TELL CITY – A live nativity scene next month will help share the meaning of the Christmas season to the community.

    The nativity scene will be located across from Tell City Depot on Saturday, Dec. 9.

    There will be two different times for this scene. The first event will be at 6 p.m. and the second at 7. There will be live animals, singers and guitarists. This scene is amazing for everyone to see. A group of young children and teenagers from the ages of 5 through 20 have worked together to make this happen.

  • St. Paul Christmas Bazaar set for Dec. 1-3

    TELL CITY – St. Paul Catholic Church will host its eighth annual Christmas Bazaar starting Friday, Dec. 1, at 4:30 p.m. in the parish hall. An all-you-can-eat chili supper will start at the same time and continue until 7. Cost will be $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Carryouts will be available.

    The bazaar will resume Saturday, Dec. 2, from 2-4 p.m. and 5:30-6:30 at the Catholic Ministry Center. Activities will continue Sunday before and after the 9 a.m. and noon Masses.

  • Land of Lights opens Thanksgiving Night

    SANTA CLAUS – The ninth annual Santa Claus Land of Lights Family Christmas Light Adventure opens for the season on Thanksgiving night, Nov. 23.

Located inside Lake Rudolph Campground & RV Resort, this custom drive-through outdoor light show tells the Shining Story of Rudolph with thousands of bright, energy-efficient LEDs and dozens of storyboards.

    At 1.2 miles long, it is one of the largest holiday light shows in North America. Each vehicle receives a free photo with Rudolph.

    Troy leaf pickup this weekend

     

    TROY – Leaf pick-up for Troy is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25 and 26. Residents should have leaves loose and curbside.

  • St. Augustine Daddy-Daughter Dance Dec. 2

    LEOPOLD – The 4:13 youth group will host a Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday, Dec. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at St Augustine Parish Hall in Leopold.

    Students in grades K through sixth are invited to dance the night away with their Dads. Cost is $20 and $5 for each additional daughter.

    Grandfathers, brothers, uncle, cousins, a neighbor, friend or other male figure is welcome to be a substitute for Dad.

    The evening includes pizza, snacks, drinks, craft and souvenir.

    Photo opportunities will be available.

  • Melchior Marionettes to perform this weekend

    FERDINAND – Since 1952, the Melchior Marionettes have been performing throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Join third generation of The Melchior Marionettes, Heidi, as she shares her beautifully hand-crafted marionettes once again at the 2017 Ferdinand Christkindlmarkt. She is excited to mark the 10th year of entertaining Christkindlmarkt visitors and enjoys being a part of this annual tradition.

  • EUCC Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 23

    TELL CITY – Evangelical United Church of Christ will host its annual community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 23. Everyone is welcome to participate, and meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at 802 10th St.

     Delivery of meals will begin around 10:30 a.m. To request delivery, call (812) 547-7059.

    Volunteers are welcome to help prepare food, deliver meals, or clean up on Nov. 23, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.
