  • Date set for St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest

    ST. MEINRAD – Inkspot Productions LLC has announced the date for the sixth annual St. Meinrad ROCKS! Fest. The 2016 benefit event will go back to our “indoor roots” for one year only and will be held at the St. Meinrad American Legion, Post #366 on Saturday, Sept. 24.

    This year’s event will feature music by 10 acts, both bands and solo acts, returning favorites and newcomers. Food and dinners, as well as exclusive SMR merchandise, will again be sold. The complete entertainment schedule will be announced at a later date.

  • Braunies to host Charlie Tuggle ride

    TELL CITY – Braunies Bar will host the ninth annual Charlie Tuggle Ride Saturday, April 30. Registration will be from 9 to 11 a.m., with all bikes leaving at 11 a.m., and returning at 3:30 p.m.

    The public is welcome. All donations will go to Shriners Childrens Hospital and Schreiber Family Charities.

  • Owensboro’s ROMP bluegrass festival lineup announced

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – The ROMP bluegrass festival has added Old Crow Medicine Show, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives and Lee Ann Womack to finalize the lineup for this year’s event.

    ROMP, which stands for River of Music Party, is an annual event of the International Bluegrass Music Museum. The festival celebrates the genre’s musical roots (traditional) and branches (progressive).

    ROMP, now in its 13th year, will take place June 22-25 at Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro.

  • Eddie Money, Cracker, The Marshall Tucker Band highlight Lincoln Amphitheatre 2016 season

    Music legend Eddie Money, 90s alt-rockers Cracker and southern rock icons The Marshall Tucker Band highlight the music lineup for Lincoln Amphitheatre’s 2016 season.  

    In addition to six performances of “A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale,” this season will include an evening with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and tribute shows to the music of the Beach Boys, AC/DC, Garth Brooks and Pink Floyd. The 2016 performance series will be the most diverse series in the venue’s 29-year history.

  • Original Freedom Train returning to Holiday World

    In celebration of Holiday World’s upcoming 70th birthday season, the park just announced the return of its original ride, The Freedom Train, for display following a three-year absence.

    Park president Matt Eckert, who remembers riding the train when the park was still known as Santa Claus Land, released news of the train’s return during the first episode of The Official Holiday World Podcast.

  • The Way Down Wanderers to Perform at annual ‘Halfway to the Folk Fest’ event

    FERDINAND – The Way Down Wanderers are the featured act for the annual “Halfway to the Folk Fest” lineup announcement and fundraiser on March 19.  Local and regional singer-songwriter Bethany Boeglin will perform a brief opening set.

    The show will be held at Ferdinand’s American Legion in the family-friendly back hall.  Doors will open at 6 p.m., Boeglin will perform at 7:30 p.m., and The Way Down Wanderers will begin at approximately 8:15 p.m. All times are Eastern.
