  • Twilight Towers annual yard sale planned for Saturday, May 16

    TELL CITY – The Twilight Towers Tenant Council gathered March 18, with President Joyce Richardt opening the meeting.

    Celebrating March birthdays are Louis Kuntz, Sue Bullock, Vivien DuPont, Evelyn Snyder, Bryant Bolin, Ed Harpenau, Elsie Flamion, Herb Hawker, Louise Hay, Debbie Howell and Dan Miller.

    A tenant-only dinner will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, April 10. At 6 p.m., Ralph Reed will provide entertainment beginning at 6 p.m., along with a karaoke dance. The public is invited to attend the dance.

  • Talk to a lawyer for free May 14

    EVANSVILLE – The next scheduled telephone talk to a lawyer clinic is Thursday, May 14. 

    While the telephone clinic is traditionally the first Thursday of each month, May’s session will be held May 14  from 4:30 to 7 p.m. During these hours, volunteers will be available to talk to callers about any  general legal question regarding Indiana law.

    Volunteers do not represent the callers, they are only available to answer questions and give general legal advice and guidance.

    THE LAFAYETTE SPRING CHAPTER of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Patio. The chapter will hold their memorial program and Deanna Martin Lima will speak about her Revolutionary War patriot, “King” David Benge. The Lewis and Benge Chapter of DAR in Clay County, Ky., is named in Benge’s honor.

    MARY HACKEL was hostess to her monthly bunco club Monday evening. Winners were Charlotte Harpenau, Mary Hackel, Pat Dyer and Toodie Parker.  The club will get together again on Wednesday, May 20 with Charlotte Harpenau as hostess.

    Historical society meeting today

     

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, April 27, at the museum, located at the corner of Ninth and Franklin streets.

    The evening’s program will be presented by Dennis Talbott of the VGS Paranormal Group. Everyone is invited to attend. Anyone interested in joining the historical society is encouraged to attend. Yearly dues of $15 may be paid that evening.

     

    Yard sale to benefit diabetes research May 1-2

  • Food pantry Sunday at First United Methodist

    TELL CITY – First United Methodist Church in Tell City will hold a Food Pantry Sunday, May 3.

    Items needed this month are canned peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, pineapple, applesauce, 100-percent fruit juice in cans and other non perishable can items. Offerings may be made during communion or dropped off. Food donations will support Widow’s Barrel Food Pantry.

    Food Pantries need help all year long and First United Methodist Church supports Widow’s Barrel every month.

    PCMH Auxiliary to hold yard sale Friday, Saturday

     

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will hold its annual yard sale Friday and Saturday, April 24-25, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939. Hours will be from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. Auxiliary members can bring items in Thursday, April 23 for pricing from 1-5 p.m.
