  • The Big O Music Fest to return for ninth year July 8

    OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Big O Music Fest will return to Owensboro, Ky., for the ninth time July 8. Gates will open at noon and tickets cost $49.50 each.

    The headliner for the event is Cole Swindell. Supporting acts include Colt Ford, Moon Taxi, Craig Campbell, Tucker Beathard, Dylan Scott and Muscadine Bloodline.

  • Grief support group to meet July 6

    TELL CITY – A grief support group will meet at the Club House at The Villas of Oakwood Thursday, July 6, at 6 p.m.

  • Arts event July 8 at City Hall

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Regional Arts Association will host its second annual evening of art at City Hall in Tell City on Saturday, July 8, from 5 to 9 p.m.

    Features of the evening include wine and beer tasting from Blue Heron, Winzerwald wineries and craft beer from St. Benedict’s Brew Work. Light snacks and many displays of local artists work will be available for view. There is no charge for the event but donations will be accepted to help with future events.

    BE Ministry to meet July 11

    TELL CITY – BE Ministry hosts a Bible discussion opportunity open to everyone each month on the second Tuesday.
    The next discussion is July 11. The group will talk about Genesis 18 - 19 or any other topic or verse. They meet at 6 p.m. at the cafe in Nobles IGA. Take a Bible and a friend.

  • Appetite for Destruction to perform June 24 at Lincoln Amphitheatre

    LINCOLN CITY – Appetite for Destruction the Ultimate Tribute to Guns n’ Roses will perform at the Lincoln Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 24. The evening is being presented by Mulzer Crushed Stone.

    General admission tickets are only $16.95 and VIP tickets (preferred seating and parking, a free drink voucher good for either Pepsi product or beer wine, and a commemorative event poster) are $24.95 and can be purchased at www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com or by calling (812) 937-2329.

  • GLC cocktail and paint party set for July 24

    TELL CITY – Golden Living Center Lincoln Hills will hold a cocktails and paint party Monday, July 24, at the Tell City Moose Lodge at 5:30 to  8:30 pm.

    All proceeds will go toward the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Team. The annual Walk will be in Jasper on Sept. 30. There are 12 paint pieces to choose from and the fee ranges from $30-40 depending on choice.

  • Adventures with Nature Field Day June 25

    TIPSAW – The 15th annual Adventures with Nature field day will be held at Tipsaw Lake, on Saturday, June 24. Activities will get underway at 9 a.m. CST and will conclude approximately 1 p.m. This event is made possible by the collaborative efforts of Perry & Spencer County Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Purdue Extension Perry County and the USDA Forest Service.

  • Edwelweiss Ball 2017: Dancing With The Stars

    TELL CITY – Schweizer Fest is still more than a month away, but plans for the city’s  59th celebration of Swiss and German heritage is already in full swing. One event returning for its fourth year is the Edelweiss Ball. Named after the national flower of Switzerland, the event is set for Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Schergens Center.

    The Edelweiss Ball “Dancing With The Stars” night is the Perry County Museum’s biggest fundraising event of the year and a major contributing factor in the operation of the museum and upkeep.

  • Perry County Miss and Mister 2017 applications sought

    PERRY COUNTY – Interested in becoming 2017 Perry County 4-H Fair Royalty? Any young woman or man age 15-21 can apply. Contestants must reside in Perry County.

    Any young woman who previously ran for Miss Perry County 4-H Fair and did not receive the queen title and is within the age range, is eligible to apply.   • Ivy Tech annual yard sale coming June 24

    TELL CITY – Is it time to clean out your closets and make some money?  Do you have something you make that you want to sell?  Ivy Tech’s Community Yard Sale is planned for June 24, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., both inside and outside the building. 

    Limited Booth spaces are available inside the Ivy Tech site for $30. Outside vendor space is available for $20 and vendors must provide their own tables, tents, etc.

    Ivy Tech sponsors this event annually, as a service to the community and as a fundraiser for United Way of Perry County.
