    Troy leaf pickup this weekend

     

    TROY – Leaf pick-up for Troy is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25 and 26. Residents should have leaves loose and curbside.

  • St. Augustine Daddy-Daughter Dance Dec. 2

    LEOPOLD – The 4:13 youth group will host a Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday, Dec. 2 from 6-8 p.m. at St Augustine Parish Hall in Leopold.

    Students in grades K through sixth are invited to dance the night away with their Dads. Cost is $20 and $5 for each additional daughter.

    Grandfathers, brothers, uncle, cousins, a neighbor, friend or other male figure is welcome to be a substitute for Dad.

    The evening includes pizza, snacks, drinks, craft and souvenir.

    Photo opportunities will be available.

  • EUCC Thanksgiving dinner Nov. 23

    TELL CITY – Evangelical United Church of Christ will host its annual community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, Nov. 23. Everyone is welcome to participate, and meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at 802 10th St.

     Delivery of meals will begin around 10:30 a.m. To request delivery, call (812) 547-7059.

    Volunteers are welcome to help prepare food, deliver meals, or clean up on Nov. 23, between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  • Transitional housing benefit Dec. 2

    TELL CITY – The Concerned Citizens for Drug Recovery group will host a chili supper, bake sale and silent auction Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m. Meals include a peanut butter sandwich and drink for $8.

    A guest speaker will take the podium at 6:30 and the auction will begin at 7.

    The event will take place at the EUCC, 802 10th St., Tell City.

  • Toys for Tots campaign opens

    PERRY COUNTY – The 2017 Toys for Tots campaign has begun. New and unused Toy donations can be made to area drop off sites at local businesses.

    Monetary donations can be made by going to ToysforTots.org and selecting “Donate,” and follow the directions for donating to the local campaign.

  • ‘Scrooge’s Christmas’ set for stage

    LINCOLN CITY – The Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association is again producing the family-friendly and holiday favorite, “Scrooge’s Christmas,” in December.  The performances will be held at the Heritage Hills High School auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1, 3 and 6 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 16, at 1, 3 and 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Dec. 17, at 2 p.m.  All times listed are central.

  • Melchior Marionettes to perform this weekend

    FERDINAND – Since 1952, the Melchior Marionettes have been performing throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. Join third generation of The Melchior Marionettes, Heidi, as she shares her beautifully hand-crafted marionettes once again at the 2017 Ferdinand Christkindlmarkt. She is excited to mark the 10th year of entertaining Christkindlmarkt visitors and enjoys being a part of this annual tradition.

    Soup fundraiser Friday

     

    TELL CITY – There will be a vegetable beef Soup fundraiser in the dining room at Twilight Towers, 1648 10th St., in Tell City on Friday Nov.17. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m.. The price will be $3 a bowl, which includes drink and desert. The public is invited to attend.

  • TC culinary, drama students’ dinner theater Saturday

    TELL CITY – The Tell City High School Drama Club and Culinary Arts Program are teaming up to present a dinner theater on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Dinner will consist of salad, bread, lasagna and dessert.
