  • Active Christians in Training offered at FUMC

    TELL CITY - Children, their parents and everyone looking for a class to attend the hour after worship are invited to gather at First United Methodist Church in the basement for Active Christians in Training.

    ACT will provide a new format where families can learn together.
    It will be a relaxed atmosphere involving Bible study and simple activities for children to do on their own.

    Wiggling children and adults are welcome. Jonah will be the topic through Sunday, June 8.

  • St. Paul picnic Sunday in City Hall Park

    TELL CITY - St. Paul Catholic Church will host its annual summer picnic Sunday, June 8, in City Hall Park.

    Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with grilled- chicken and roast-beef dinners in the parish hall, 824 Jefferson Street in Tell City.

    St. Paul TGIF set for Friday
    TELL CITY - St. Paul Catholic Church will host TGIF - beer brats, burgers and band - Friday, May 30, from 7 to 11 p.m. in the church parking lot.

    Entertainment will be provided by the St. Anthony area band, The Recycled Teenagers.

    St. Pius Catholic church held its first Holy Communion recently.

    FUMC Date Night Saturday
    TELL CITY –Date Night Challenge 2014, a night out for couples, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m.  Saturday, May 17, at Tell City First United Methodist Church.

  • Men’s Lenten breakfasts raise $400 for food coalition

    TELL CITY – The Perry County Men’s Lenten Breakfast group announced that $400 had been collected from the Saturday breakfasts held throughout Lent, according to President Bill Simpson and Treasurer Randy Lautner.

    A check for $400 was recently delivered to the Perry County Food Coalition.

  • Methodist church seeks items for food pantry

    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church is in need of boxed or canned items to support Jasper’s Food Pantry in Cannelton.

    Food pantries need help year-round and the congregation plans to support Jasper’s Food Pantry each month.

    Items most needed include peanut butter, granola bars, 100-percent fruit juice, cereal and Hamburger Helper.

    Donors may deliver items from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, May 5 (today).

  • St. Meinrad town-wide yard sales this weekend

    ST. MEINRAD – The community of St. Meinrad will host is annual town-wide sales Friday, May 2, through Sunday, May 4.
    The Saint Meinrad Archabbey Gift Shop will again have yard sales all days.

    The Relay for Life team will also host a large fundraiser yard sale May 2-3 at the St. Meinrad Parish Annex building, located behind the church off of Brewery Street. Residents  will also have yard and garage sales.

    Food will be available at the St. Meinrad Legion Post 366, as well as at the Archabbey Gift Shop.
