  • St. Paul’s Mission Possible event to be held Jan. 23

    TELL CITY – St. Paul’s Catholic Church’s Scrapbooking Group will sponsor the fourth annual scrapbooking, card making and general crafting crop Saturday, Jan. 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church Parish Hall in Tell City. The cost is $25 per person, which includes snacks, lunch, drinks and goodie bags. All proceeds will go to support the St. Paul’s 2016 youth mission trip to Pittsburgh, Pa.

    St. Boniface to host Christmas concert


    FULDA – St. Boniface Catholic Church will host an Advent and Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. featuring Celebration Singers of Dubois, Spencer and Martin counties. The public is welcome to attend. The event is sponsored by  the Heritage and Fundraising Commission at St. Boniface.

  • Archabbey Church will have Holy Door during Year of Mercy

    ST. MEINRAD – The Saint Meinrad Archabbey Church will participate in a special way in the Holy Year of Mercy designated by Pope Francis. The jubilee year began Dec. 8 and will conclude Nov. 20, 2016.

    Catholics will be able to experience the spiritual benefits of this extraordinary jubilee year in various ways. They are also invited during the year to reach out with God’s mercy to people who experience needs of various sorts.

  • Archabbey Library Gallery to host exhibit by artist Brother Martin Erspamer


    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery is hosting an exhibit of artwork by artist Brother Martin Erspamer OSB, from now through the end of December.

    This show, titled “Recent Works,” is a collection of new work he has done in ceramics, relief prints, serigraphs and works on paper. Many of the artwork pieces are also for sale.

    Pair of live nativities planned for Saturday

    TELL CITY – Two live nativities are planned in Tell City for this Saturday, Dec. 12. Both are being sponsored by local churches.

    The first will be located across from the Tell City Depot on Seventh Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact Mona Lehman with Evangelical United Christ of Christ at (812) 547-3302 or Nick DeBasi from Deer Creek Baptist Church at (812) 569-1403.

    The public is encouraged to visit the live nativity.

  • Sisters plan program on faith during difficult times for Dec. 12

    FERDINAND – The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand will offer a program, “On Staying at Table: Being Faithful Amidst Life’s Difficulties,” on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9:30 a.m. Eastern time until 11:30 a.m. at the Benedictine Hospitality Center at Kordes Hall on the grounds of Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand.

  • St. Paul youth attend national youth conference

    INDIANAPOLIS – From Nov. 19 to Nov. 21, a dozen St. Paul youth and four chaperones attended a three-day National Catholic Youth Conference at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

    NCYC was a powerful three-day experience of prayer, community, and empowerment for Catholic teenagers of high school age and their adults. Approximately 25,000 young people and their chaperones attended. Many bishops, priests, nuns and seminarians attended as well.

    Christmas schedule at Saint Meinrad Archabbey


    ST. MEINRAD – The public is welcome to join the Benedictine monks of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad as they celebrate Christmas in the Archabbey Church.

    On Christmas Eve, Thursday, Dec. 24, vigils will begin at 7 p.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 10 p.m.

    The Mass of Christmas Day will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 25.
