    Gospel Tabernacle to welcome James McMikin
    CANNELTON – Cannelton Gospel Tabernancle Church in Cannelton will have revival services with Evangelist James McMikin of Jasper at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 1 p.m. Sunday.
    McMikin will share his ministry in song as well as the Bible. Everyone is welcome and invited to attend.

  • His Witness Southern gospel group reuniting Sunday

    TELL CITY – Community Christian Church invites the public to a reunion concert of the Southern gosepel group His Witness. Its members have not sang together for almost 25 years.

  • Darrell Evans to appear at Community Christian Church Nov. 3

    TELL CITY – Worship leader and songwriter Darrell Evans will be appearing in Tell City for a community worship event Nov. 3, at Community Christian Church, located at 821 10th Street.
    The event will begin at 7 p.m. Darrell’s projects “Let the River Flow” and “Freedom” both garnered Dove Award nominations and influenced a new wave of congregational worship. His newest project, “Nothing Less Than Everything,” wraps his joy, passion and experience in a fresh and powerful sound.

    Harvest Carnival at St. John’s Lutheran
    EVANSTON – St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evanston will host a Harvest Carnival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday.
    The event is sponsored by St. John’s church and SonShine Early Learning Ministry. There will be free food, bounce houses, games and trunk-or-treats from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All are invited to attend.

    Free concert of Sacred Music at Monastery
    FERDINAND – Ruth Cunningham brings her classically trained musical talents and sound healing practices to the monastery church of the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand to perform “Light and Shadow: Chants, Prayers and Improvisations” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 EDT.

  • Emmanuel Lutheran soup supper Saturday

    TELL CITY – Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 12th and Pestalozzi streets in Tell City, will hold its annual soup supper Saturday.
    Carry out soup will be available at 3 p.m. outside the church. Those carrying out soup are asked to take their own containers. Serving in the dining room will begin at 4:30 p.m.
    Barbecue chicken dinners, crick fried potatoes, slaw, cakes and pies will also be served.
    A bake sale and country store will be set up as well. All are welcome to attend.

    Fun day at Chestnut Grove
    TELL CITY – Chestnut Grove Church, 4569A Chestnut Grove Road in Tell City, will host a fun day and invites the community to attend.
    The day will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday with chili, soups, hot dogs and desserts being service. Games will include cornhole, washers, horseshoes, and a cakewalk and inflatables for children. Grass sack races will also be set up.

    CANNELTON – Pastor Ricky Cravens of James-town, Tenn., will be a guest speaker at the morning and evening worship services Sunday at the Cannelton Freewill Baptist Church.
    Pastor Lewis Garrett and the congregation welcome everyone to attend.

  • St. Isidore shooting match set for Oct. 21

    BRISTOW – The annual St. Isidore shooting match has been set for Oct. 21 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bristow.
    The ham and turkey shot will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The closed match – beef and pork - will begin at 2:30 p.m. First choice is a half of beef.
    Lunch will be served beginning at 10:30 a.m. and include homemade chili, hamburgers, homemade pie, coffee, soft drinks and bottled water. A country store, cake stand, splatter boards, pull tabs, children’s games and bingo will also be available.

    Special service at Bristow Christian
    BRISTOW – The Bristow Christian Church will have a special service Sunday at 10 a.m.
    The Gideons will bring the message and a carry-in salad lunch will follow. Sunday School will be held at 9 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
    Also, no Sunday school will be held Oct. 14 during the Bristow car show and fest. Church services that Sunday will be held at 9 a.m.
