  • Vegetarian cuisine workshop Nov. 19

    TELL CITY – Tell City Seventh-day Adventist Church will offer a culinary experience in vegetarianism from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the church. The event is free and open to the public. The church is at 434 13th Street in Tell City.

  • Missions team offers to rake leaves

    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist Church’s missions team is collecting names of people who need help raking leaves in their yards this fall.

    Names, addresses and phone numbers may be provided to the church office by calling 547-2800 or sending email to the church at tcumc@psci.net.

  • St. Boniface to sell homemade holiday goodies Nov. 25-26

    FULDA – Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda will sell homemade holiday pies and cookies beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25 and 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 at Santa Claus Holiday Foods and Tell City Nobles IGA.

    The parish family of St. Boniface hopes to make the holidays easier by offering a wide variety of fresh, homemade cookies and pies. Varieties range from pecan to apple crumb and snicker doodles to oatmeal scotchies.

  • Recovery group meets Sundays

    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist church offers Celebrate Recovery Ministry every Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the social hall at the church.

    Based on the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery offers a Biblically based, Christ-centered program.

    It is for anyone wrestling with alcohol, drugs, depression, overeating or other issues. Everyone is invited, welcome to attend and encouraged to take a friend.

  • K of C plans Memorial Mass

    TELL CITY – The Knights of Columbus will hold a Memorial Mass at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. The Mass will be held in remembrance of all deceased Knights of Columbus members, especially those who have passed away since the last Memorial Mass. Everyone is welcome to attend.

  • St. John’s Thanksgiving supper planned for Nov. 22

    LAMAR – St. John’s United Church of Christ in 
Lamar will host its annual Thanksgiving supper at 4 p.m. Saturday, 
Nov. 22. The menu will include ham and turkey, 
St. John’s “famous” dressing, fall vegetables, salad
 and home-baked desserts
 Carry out will be available.

  • Gospel Thanksgiving concert set for Saturday Nov. 22

    TROY – Troy First Christian Church will present its annual Gospel Thanksgiving in Song. The public and all churches and denominations are most welcome.

    The program will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, in the Tell City Junior Senior High School auditorium.

    Doors will open at 4 p.m. Special guests include Jeremy Calloway, Hoosier Harmony, Ryan Seaton and Conquerors Quartet.

  • Celebrate Recovery Ministry meets Sundays

    TELL CITY – The Tell City First United Methodist church offers Celebrate Recovery Ministry to the community.

    The group meets every Sunday afternoon at 5 p.m. in the social hall at the church.

    “Celebrate Recovery is for anyone who is struggling with the bondage of alcohol and drugs, but it is also for anyone wrestling with depression, overeating or anything that holds one hostage from the freedom and joy Christ offers us all,” said church leaders.

    PERRY COUNTY – Catholic Charities, in conjunction with the Holiday Helpers United program, is once again sponsoring a winter coat giveaway.
