    Bristow United Pentecostal homecoming
    BRISTOW – The 60th homecoming for the Bristow United Pentecostal Church will be June 9.
    This will also be the 20th Pastoral Anniversary for Pastor and Mrs. Clarence Enmen Jr.
    Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. with a pot-luck dinner at 11:45 a.m. A special service and singing will follow the dinner.
    The Rev. Gary Ellis of Clarksville, Tenn., will be the speaker at both services.

    St. Meinrad and St. Boniface parishes recently celebrated the first communions of several young members.

    Bible school at New Hope Baptist
    NEWTONVILLE – Area children are invited to New Hope Baptist’s summer vacation Bible school, “Colossal Coaster World,” June 10 through June 13.
    Activities will be held each evening from 6 to 8:15 p.m. at the church, 6511 E. Indiana 70 in Newtonville.

    CANNELTON – Cornerstone Christian School, affiliated with Freewill Baptist Church in Cannelton, announces their commencement exercises to honor church high-school seniors at 2 p.m. Saturday.

    Tell Street Baptist Bible school June 5-7
    TELL CITY – Children of the community are invited to this year’s vacation Bible school, “God’s Backyard; Bible camp under the stars” at Tell Street Baptist Church.
    The camp will be held June 5 to June 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening.
    A kick off party is planned for 5 p.m. June 1 at the church. There will be a cornhole tournament, weenie roast, a dunking booth and more.
    Everyone is invited to attend.

  • Annual May Monte Cassino pilgrimages continues Sunday in St. Meinrad

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s pilgrimages to honor the Blessed Mother at the Monte Cassino Shrine have been scheduled for the Sundays in May. The pilgrimages begin with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The service ends with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn. \Speakers and topics for the pilgrimages are:
    • Sunday – Novice Matthew Sprauer OSB, “Mary, Model of Hospitality”
    • May 26 – Novice Bradley Jensen OSB, “Mary, Full of Grace”

    Students in second grade at St. Paul Catholic Church celebrated their first reception of Holy Communion April 28 at the 11:30 a.m. Mass with the Rev. Dennis Duvelius as presider.

    Youth rally Friday at Central Baptist
    HAWESVILLE, Ky. – Central Baptist Church, Highway 60 in Hawesville, will host a Blackford Breckinridge Baptist Associational Youth Rally at 6 p.m. Friday.
    A free pizza dinner will be served. All junior- and senior-high school youth are invited to attend.
