  • Life Tabernacle United returns to winter service schedule

    TELL CITY – Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, located at 402 Ninth Street in Tell City, has returned to its winter schedule of services.

    Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday now through March 29. No services will be held Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Contact Pastor Orville Harmon at 547-5727 for transportation or more information. Everyone is invited to attend.

  • Deer Creek Baptist schedules Christmas programs

    TELL CITY – Deer Creek Baptist Church will host youth and adult Christmas programs beginning Sunday, Dec. 14.

    At 6 p.m., the congregation’s children will present “Meet Me at the Manger,” followed by a youth creative expression of “Oh Holy Night” and a “Nativity Scene Shadow Play.”

    On Sunday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m., the adult choir will perform the cantata, “Bethlehem Morning.” Christmas caroling will begin at 6 p.m.

  • Bethel Church to host Christmas programs

    TELL CITY – The Rev. Ron Ammon of Bethel Baptist Church and its members invite the public to stroll down memory lane with two nights of “Christmas Memories” music and visuals performed by the church’s praise team and various members.

    Programs will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 14.

    A children’s Christmas program will be held Sunday, Dec. 14 during the 10 a.m. worship service. The church is at the corner of Ninth and Fulton streets in Tell City.

  • Area students to perform Sunday in monastery recital

    FERDINAND – Budding musical talents will be showcased as students of the Sisters of St. Benedict perform a Christmas recital at 2 p.m. EST Sunday, Dec. 7, at Monastery Immaculate Conception.

    The students represent various schools in the area, including William Tell Elementary, Tell City High School, Perry Central Elementary, Nancy Hanks Elementary, Heritage Hills Middle School, Heritage Hills High School and Ferdinand Elementary.

  • First Church of the Nazarene welcomes new pastor

    TELL CITY – The First Church of the Nazarene will hold an installation service for its incoming pastor, the Rev. Charles Areson, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7.

    A small reception will follow and the public is invited to attend.

  • First Baptist to show ‘Heaven’ Nov. 30

    ROCKPORT – Rockport First Baptist Church in Rockport will show a new film from Billy Graham entitled “Heaven.”

    The showing will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30. Everyone is invited to attend.

  • St. John’s Christmas bazaar Dec. 6

    NEW BOSTON – The annual Christmas bazaar at St. John’s Lutheran Church, half a mile west of New Boston, will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. CST Saturday, Dec. 6.

    Homemade candy, apple dumplings, cheese balls, turnip kraut and turnip slaw will be available, as well as baked goods, including springerles.

    There will also be crafts, quilts, blankets and numerous other items. Special soup will be sold by the gallon; take your own containers. Soup, sandwiches and pie will be served throughout the day. Everyone is welcome.

  • Dale Presbyterian to host ‘Longest Night’

    DALE – Dale Presbyterian Church’s Micah Center will host a community event featuring the indoor labyrinth at 6 p.m. CST Sunday, Dec. 21, the “Longest Night.” Amid the excitement and noise of the holiday season, many need a respite of quiet. Others who have lost loved ones this past year may need a place of compassion and mercy. The Rev. Laurie Hearn, certified labyrinth facilitator, will lead participants through a time of reflection and walking the labyrinth. Everyone in the community is invited.
