    Annual Good Friday bake sale
    TELL CITY – The United Pentecostal Church will hold its annual bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in front of Wal-Mart in Tell City.
    Pies, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bunny cakes, fudge, peanut butter balls, hard boiled colored eggs will be among the items for sale.

    TELL CITY – The Tell City Church of Christ would like to invite the community to come to its annual Easter sunrise service at 6 a.m.

    Tell City UMC announces Easter services
    TELL CITY – Easter worship services at Tell City First United Methodist Church have been set.
    Services will be held at 8 and 10:15 a.m. with a breakfast at 9 a.m. in the church social hall. These special times will enable families to worship together at a time that works best for them. A nursery will be provided. A handicap lift is also available. 

  • Holy Week, Easter schedule set for Saint Meinrad Archabbey

    ST. MEINRAD – The Holy Week and Easter schedule for Saint Meinrad Archabbey in St. Meinrad has been set. The public is invited to join the Benedictine monks for these services in the Archabbey Church. All times are central.
    Palm Sunday, March 24, 9:15 a.m., Blessing and procession with palms, followed by Mass; 5 p.m., Vespers
    Holy Thursday, March 28, 5 p.m., Mass of the Lord’s Supper; no Vespers
    Good Friday, March 29, 3 p.m., Liturgy of the Passion and Death of the Lord; no Vespers

    Cannelton First Baptist movie showing Sunday
    CANNELTON – The First Baptist Church of Cannelton would like to invite the public to a viewing of “The Passion of the Christ” at 5 p.m. Sunday. Light refreshments will be provided.
    The viewing will be in the Cotton Mill Community Room. Enter through the Adams St. entrance.

    Little Pigeon to hold gospel sing Saturday
    LAMAR – Little Pigeon Baptist Church, located two-tenths of a mile east of U.S. 231 on County Road 1250 N., will host a gospel sing Saturday at the church.
    Guest singers will be the Jeremy Farmer family and Dion White. Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m. and singing will start at 7. All are welcome to attend. For more information, call (812) 529-8514.

    Lent series for adults at local Catholic center
    TELL CITY – As those of the Catholic faith celebrate 50 years of Vatican, the Catholic Ministry Center in Tell City will welcome the Rev. Jeremy King, OSB, a Benedictine monk of St. Meinrad, for a Lent series for adults.
    The talks will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on four consecutive Thursdays beginning today at the ministry center.

    Cannelton First Baptist to show movie
    CANNELTON – The First Baptist Church in Cannelton invites the public to attend a showing of “Paul the Apostle,” a documentary on Paul’s teachings to help better understand the life of Paul. The event will be held at 4 p.m.  Feb. 24, at the First Baptist Church, 325 South Fourth St., in Cannelton. The movie is approximately three hours long and light refreshments will be served.
    Everyone is encouraged to attend.

  • Archbishop Daniel Buechlein’s book now available

    ST. MEINRAD – “Surprised by Grace: Memories and Reflections After 25 Years of Episcopal Ministry,” written by Indianapolis Archbishop Emeritus Daniel Buechlein, OSB, is available for sale.
    The book includes the archbishop’s memories and reflections, plus photos of his childhood, family and life in the ministry.
    Buechlein is a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey and returned to the monastery following his retirement from the archdiocese in 2011.

    Fish dinner at St. Boniface
    FULDA – The parish family of St. Boniface Catholic Church invites neighbors and friends to a fish dinner, and an evening of fellowship Feb. 15. Dinners will be served from 3 to 7 p.m.
    Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children. Meals will consist of two boneless fish fillets, bread, dessert, drink and choice of three sides: German fries, macaroni and cheese, baked beans or slaw.
