  • Prayer rally Nov. 7 in City Hall Park

    TELL CITY – There will be a community ecumenical prayer rally at noon Monday, Nov. 7, ahead of the election. It will last about 30 minutes and is being sponsored by the ministerial association of the county.  It will be held in City Hall Park in Tell City.

    The service will be nonpartisan and will be focused on the community coming together.

    Chili Supper at Troy UMC

     

    TROY – Troy United Methodist Church will hold a chili supper, complete with desserts and beverages Saturday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.

    The church is located on the corner of Walnut and Spring streets in Troy.

    Join church members for a fun evening of fellowship and a free meal, free-will donations will be gratefully accepted.

  • Free archabbey concert Saturday

    ST. MEINRAD – A free concert featuring piano, oboe and viola will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Central Time in the theater in St. Bede Hall, on the campus of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad.

    Performing will be Christy D’Ambrosio, Celeste Johnson and Rose Wollman.

    D’Ambrosio is an accomplished piano soloist and collaborative chamber musician. In addition to maintaining a private studio, she has served as an adjunct instructor at Murray State University in Murray, Ky., since 2008.

  • Revival Oct. 14-16

    TELL CITY – Retired Pastor and Speaker Rev. Bill Reid will have a revival at the Tell City First Church of the Nazarene. Services will be Friday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m., Saturday. Oct. 15, at 6 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 16, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The church is located on 17 Lausanne Court in Tell City on the hill behind Orscheln’s in Burglen Hills.

    Rev. Reid feels too often the Bible and the ways of God are presented as if they are complicated. Rev. Reid will present the simple truths of God’s Word and of salvation during these messages.

  • Monte Cassino pilgrimages to be held in October

    ST. MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey’s pilgrimages to honor the Blessed Mother at the Monte Cassino Shrine have been scheduled for the Sundays in October.

    The pilgrimages begin with an opening hymn and a short sermon, followed by a rosary procession. The service ends with the Litany of the Blessed Virgin and a hymn. Speakers and topics for the pilgrimages are:

    • Oct. 2 – Brother André DeDecker OSB, “Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary”

  • Free youth event after Tell City football games

    TELL CITY – After every home football game for the Tell City Marksmen, Tell City First United Methodist Church, located at 702 10th St., will host a free event for junior high and high school youth approximately 30 minutes after each game is over, with pick-up at 11:30 p.m.

  • BE Ministry to host retreat for women in October

    DERBY – “BE Still and know that I am God” is the theme of the women’s retreat scheduled for Oct. 14-16. BE Ministry will host the retreat for women 18 years old and older.

    The retreat will be held at the Glenn Wood Hills Camp and Retreat Center in Derby. The guest speaker and facilitator for the weekend will be Beth Boling of Blue Grass United Methodist Church in Evansville.

  • Gospel Tabernacle song and praise jamboree Saturday

    CANNELTON – Gospel Tabernacle Church will hold its third annual song and praise jamboree at its outdoor pavilion Saturday, Sept. 10, from 2 to 5 p.m.

    Guests are invited to share their talents with the congregation or simply enjoy the talents being shared.

    Light refreshments will be served during intermissions.

    The pavilion is located at 5425 Girl Scout Road, in Cannelton.
