  • Children of St. Meinrad and St. Boniface Catholic churches receive First Holy Communion

  • Vacation Bible school at First Baptist July 19

    CANNELTON - First Baptist Church in Cannelton will hold vacation Bible school from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19. The theme will be "God's Team." Morning lessons will be followed by a provided lunch and an afternoon of fun and games.

    This event is open to children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

    Parents may drop children off beginning at 9:30 a.m. and all children must be picked up by 3:30 p.m. Parents will be required to sign permission slips available at drop-off or by sending email to youthrefuge2012@gmail.com.

  • Emmanuel Lutheran Bible school students explore the Sea of Galilee

    Emmanuel Lutheran Church's "In Gangway to Galilee" vacation Bible school was held June 6-8. During the three-day event, children learned about five different Bible accounts on the shore or on the Sea of Galilee.

    Crowds of thousands followed Jesus as he called his disciples, taught the people about their heavenly father and showed that he will keep is safe, save us and provide for all we need now and eternally."

    St. Peter's supper, auction July 5
    LAMAR - St. Peter's United Church of Christ near Lamar will hold its annual buffet supper and picnic beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 5 at the church.

    Supper will feature fried chicken, baked ham, salads, casseroles, fresh fruit and home-baked desserts. Guests will also have a chance to stroll through the grove and sample all flavors at the homemade ice-cream stand.

    A silent auction by the church youth group will also be held. All proceeds will go toward an upcoming mission trip to Haiti.

  • Heartland Baptist to host revival, guest pastor

    CANNELTON - The Rev. Jack Kidwell, pastor of Heartland Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, will be guest speaker at revival services at Cannelton Freewill Baptist Church Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 beginning at 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 22 at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

    Pastor Lewis Garrett and the congregation welcome everyone to attend.

  • First United Methodist new ministry group to meet

    TELL CITY - Beginning Tuesday, July 1, a women's ministry group called "WOW-SIS" - Women of Worth-Sisters In Service, will meet at 6 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month.

    All women are welcome and are encouraged to attend. For more information, call the church office at 547-2800 or Sheila Rearden, leader of WOW-SIS Ministry Group, at 547-6525.

  • Women's Guild of EUCC to meet June 12

    TELL CITY - The Women's Guild At Evangelical United Church Of Christ will meet for its final meeting of the 2013-2014 year Thursday, June 12 at 1 p.m. in fellowship hall. Debbie Mangum, vice president, will preside.

    There will be no coffee social but there will be fellowship time and pizza served following the meeting.

    All ladies of the church are invited to attend. The regular guild meetings will resume in September.
     

  • Bristow United Church homecoming Sunday

    BRISTOW - United Pentecostal Church in Bristow will host its 61st homecoming and 21st pastoral anniversary Sunday, June 8.

    Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a potluck dinner served at 11:45 a.m. A service and special singing will follow. Jerry Hutchinson of Kinder, La., will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited. For more information, call 843-5240 or 843-4747.

  • Active Christians in Training offered at FUMC

    TELL CITY - Children, their parents and everyone looking for a class to attend the hour after worship are invited to gather at First United Methodist Church in the basement for Active Christians in Training.

    ACT will provide a new format where families can learn together.
    It will be a relaxed atmosphere involving Bible study and simple activities for children to do on their own.

    Wiggling children and adults are welcome. Jonah will be the topic through Sunday, June 8.

  • St. Paul picnic Sunday in City Hall Park

    TELL CITY - St. Paul Catholic Church will host its annual summer picnic Sunday, June 8, in City Hall Park.

    Festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. with grilled- chicken and roast-beef dinners in the parish hall, 824 Jefferson Street in Tell City.
