  • Priest’s 50th anniversary Sunday

    FULDA – The parish family of Historic St. Boniface Catholic Church and St. Meinrad Catholic Church will host an open house to honor Fr. John McMullen OSB, in celebration of his 50th anniversary of priesthood ordination.

    The open house will be held Sunday, Dec. 4, in the St. Boniface Parish Center in Fulda, from 2 to 4 p.m.

    McMullen serves the parishes as an associate priest for sacramental assistance and pastoral care for the homebound, sick and infirm.

    BE Ministry to meet Dec. 13

     

    TELL CITY – BE Ministry will host its next Bible discussion on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. at Noble’s IGA Café. They will discuss the Beatitudes in Matthew 5 and Luke 6. Take questions, ideas, a Bible and discussion materials.

  • Remembrance and Hope Candlelight Service

    TELL CITY – The Day By Day Grief support group will host its annual remembrance and hope candlelight service Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Tell City.

  • Retreat planned on John’s Gospel

    FERDINAND - The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand will offer a program, “How to Read the Gospel of John with Understanding” on Nov. 29-30 at Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand.

    Many find the gospel of John fascinating, but confusing. Its portrait of Jesus is different than in the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.

    These study evenings will provide insight into how best to read and understand the gospel of John.

    The presenter will be Father Eugene Hensell OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey.

  • Tell City United Methodist to host motivational speaker

    TELL CITY – Tell City First United Methodist church will host motivational speaker, John Malcomson with his presentation, “Life After Death,” on Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.

    The event is open to the public and the presentation is free.

    “The story of my struggle physically, mentally and spiritually after my aortic dissection. 24 plus hours of surgery, multiple complications and the toll it had on my family and I.

  • Prayer rally Nov. 7 in City Hall Park

    TELL CITY – There will be a community ecumenical prayer rally at noon Monday, Nov. 7, ahead of the election. It will last about 30 minutes and is being sponsored by the ministerial association of the county.  It will be held in City Hall Park in Tell City.

    The service will be nonpartisan and will be focused on the community coming together.

    Chili Supper at Troy UMC

     

    TROY – Troy United Methodist Church will hold a chili supper, complete with desserts and beverages Saturday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.

    The church is located on the corner of Walnut and Spring streets in Troy.

    Join church members for a fun evening of fellowship and a free meal, free-will donations will be gratefully accepted.

  • Free archabbey concert Saturday

    ST. MEINRAD – A free concert featuring piano, oboe and viola will be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Central Time in the theater in St. Bede Hall, on the campus of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St. Meinrad.

    Performing will be Christy D’Ambrosio, Celeste Johnson and Rose Wollman.

    D’Ambrosio is an accomplished piano soloist and collaborative chamber musician. In addition to maintaining a private studio, she has served as an adjunct instructor at Murray State University in Murray, Ky., since 2008.
