  • Samuel Joseph Longest

    James and Kristina Longest of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Samuel Joseph Longest, Friday, March 1, 2013, at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce and was 191/4 inches long.
    Mrs. Longest is the former Kristina Taylor. Samuel has one older brother, Steven Longest, 10.
    Grandparents are Lester and Debbie Taylor of Tell City, Cecilia Longest of Louisville, Ky., and the late Leo Longest.

  • Piper Sue Labhart

    Matthew and Karry Labhart of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Piper Sue Labhart, Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro, Ky.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 191/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Labhart is the former Karry Barker. Piper has one older sister, Masen Claire, 4, and a brother, Bo Matthew, 20 months.
    Grandparents are Tony and Kim Barker of Tell City and Kenny and Betty Labhart of Magnet. Great-grandparents are Aloysius and Claire Bruggeman, Connie Craig and Anne Labhart, all of Tell City.

  • Ava Rachelle Lutgring

    Ryan and Dana Lutgring of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Ava Rachelle Lutgring, Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at the Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Mrs. Lutgring is the former Dana Brockman. Ava has one older brother, Zane, 2.
    Grandparents are Tom and Terri Brockman of Evanston and Eric and Kim Lutgring of St. Marks.
    Great-grandparents are Chester and Mary Mosby of Evanston, Leona Brockman of Tell City, JoAnn Lutgring of Tell City and Bennett and Lois Bryant of Magnet.

    Grant and Mary Goffinet of Jasper announce the birth of their daughter, Sophie Mae Goffinet, Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    The infant weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces and was 20 inches long.
    Sophie has two older sisters, Lilly, 3, and Maggie, 2.
    Grandparents are Kevin and Bridget Goffinet of Bristow and Chris and Judy Sharp of Indianapolis.
    Great-grandparents are Frank and Martha Heeke of Evanston and Allen and Charlotte Goffinet of Tell City. Great-great-grandparents are Oda May Terry of Tell City and Anna Heeke of Tell City.

    Camie Barbee and J. Rillo of Tell City announce the birth of their child, Kihmara Hennissi-Rayne Barbee, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2012, at Perry County Memorial hospital in Tell City.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 181/2 inches long.
    Ms. Barbee is the former Camie Hayko.
    Grandparents are Kim and Larry Faulkenberg of Tell City, Joseph Hayko of New Albany, Carl L. Barbee Jr. and Theresa Ann Smith, both of Bryan, Texas.
    Great-grandparent is Uneda East of Oriole.

    Matt and Stephanie Glenn of Tell City announce the birth of their son, Gavin Lee Glenn, Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 201/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Glenn is the former Stephanie Bosley. Gavin has one older brother, Levi, 21/2.
    Grandparents are Brian and Joan Lasher of Rockport, Dave Bosley of Tell City and Harold Lee and Kathy Glenn of Cannelton.
    Great-grandparents are Ovalee and Dorothy LaGrange of Tell City and Iola Lasher of Leopold.

    Matt and Candy Parks of Cannelton announce the birth of their son, Creed Matthew Parks, Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Owensboro Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Ky.
    The infant weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 211/4 inches long.
    Mrs. Parks is the former Candy Jarboe. Creed has one older brother, Trent, 5.
    Grandparents are Angie Jarboe of Tell City, Mike and JoAnn Smith of English, Larry Parks of Marengo and the late Terry Jarboe.
    Great-grandmother is Mary Manship of Paoli.

  • Landscape artist to display work at abbey

    SAINT MEINRAD – Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library Gallery will host an exhibit of landscape paintings in oil and mixed-media prints by Philadelphia artist Clay Johnson. The exhibit will be on display from Saturday to March 28.

    Johnson paints on site, beginning his work with careful observation of his surroundings. He explains, “I look until I see something that moves me and then I construct a painting around that experience.”
    Free play of the imagination is his aim, rather than objective reporting. Color and light are central.

    Adam and Natalie Tempel of Tell City announce the birth of their daughter, Molly Kay Tempel, Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long.
    Mrs. Tempel is the former Natalie Gogel.
    Grandparents are Patrick and Cindy Gogel of Mariah Hill and Phillip and Rosanna Tempel of Lincoln City.
    Great-grandparents are Virlee Zoglman of St. Meinrad, Leander Tempel of Dale, Gilbert and Ruth Esarey of Bristow and the late Renus Zoglman, Leo and Edwina Gogel and Edna Tempel.

    Alex and Jaime Dilger of Dale announce the birth of their son, Gage Oaks Dilger, Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the Women’s Hospital in Newburgh.
    The infant weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19 inches long. Mrs. Dilger is the former Jaime Rickenbaugh. Gage has one older brother, Case, 22 months.
    Grandparents are Dewey and Melanie Rickenbaugh of Bristow and Leon and Doris Dilger of Dale.
