    Joe and Mary Daum of Tell City celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sept. 4, 2011, with a party hosted by their children.

    Mr. Daum married the former Mary Leclere Sept. 4, 1971, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.
    The couple have five children, Michelle Stahly and her husband, Neal of Tell City, Valerie Knieriem and her husband, Kyle of Tell City, Eric Daum of Tell City, Ryan Daum and his wife, Rebecca of Tell City and Michael Daum of Indianapolis.

  • Jim and Julie Underhill

    Jim and Julie Underhill of Doolittle Mills celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary Sept. 5, 2011.
    The couple commemorated the event with their immediate family by dining out and staying at Spring Mill Inn in Mitchell.
    Mr. Underhill married the former Julie Curl Sept. 5, 1981, at the Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills.
    The couple has two children, Kimberly Schwindel and her husband, Stephen and Kayla Underhill, all of Doolittle Mills.

  • Ray and Ruth Gunn

    Ray and Ruth Gunn of Cannelton celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 16, 2011.

    The couple commemorated the event with a private celebration with family before they traveled to California by train.
    Mr. Gunn married the former Ruth Collignon Aug. 16, 1952, in Troy.
    The couple has three children, Debbie Stemler and her husband, Kerry of Sellersburg, Becky Biever and her husband, Steve of Evansville and Bill Gun and his wife, Kim, of Tell City. They also have seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

  • Chris and Eleanor Minto

    Chris and Eleanor Minto celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 23, 2011.

    Mr. Minto and the former Eleanor Tippin were married Wednesday, Aug. 23, 1961, at the Summerset Christian Church in Putnam County.
    Their attendants were Paul Minto and Margie Sauter.
    Mr. Minto was the owner of Minto’s Market in Tell City and Mrs. Minto was a physical-education teacher at Tell City High School.
    A celebration was hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Marty and Lou Ann Backer Aug. 13. It was at-tended by several family members and friends.

  • James and Sheila Hargis

    James and Sheila Hargis of Derby will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011.

    Mr. Hargis married the former Sheila Wittmer Aug. 21, 1971 in Tell City.
    The couple has two children, a daughter, Erin Rogier and her husband, Jeff, of Leopold and a son, Kenton Hargis and his wife, Anna, of Evansville. They have two grandchildren, Josh and Alyssa Rogier.
    Mr. Hargis works at the INDOT Birdseye branch and Mrs. Hargis is a teacher assistant with Perry Central Elementary School.

  • Hubert and Alice Kleaving

    Hubert and Alice Kleaving of rural Tell City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, Aug. 6, 2011 with a family cookout.

    Mr. Kleaving and the former Alice Rohl were married Aug. 5, 1961 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Croix.
    They are the parents of four children, Diana Hedinger (Charlie), Randy Kleaving (Dawn), Darlene Davis (Tim) and Rick Kleaving (Sarah).
    The Kleavings have nine grandchildren, Jared and Clint Hedinger, Blake and Adam Kleaving, Lauren, Emily and Claire Davis and Tyler and Tayton Kleaving.

    Rick and Rita Aders of Bristow celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with a private dinner celebration July 11, 2011.

    The couple will also plan to take a trip in a couple of months.
    Mr. Aders married the former Rita Hubert July 11, 1981, in Tell City.
    The couple has two children, Leon Elverd and his wife, Danielle and Alessandra Graham and her husband, Joshua.
    They also have two grandchildren, Kayleigh Lanier and Kolten Elverd.

    Larry and Margaret (May) Schank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 2, 2011, at the Tell City American Legion with many friends and relatives in attendance.

    The couple were married July 4, 1961, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton.
    They have two children, Brian Schank and his wife, Becky, of Cannelton and Julia Schank Kunkler and her husband, Bill, of Evansville. The couple also has six grandchildren, Eric and Clinton Schank, and Michaela, Jonah, Levi and Caleb Kunkler.

  • John and Betty Wilgus

    Mr. and Mrs. John Wilgus of Tell City celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 24, 2011.
    The couple were married June 24, 1951, at Troy Christian Church in Troy.
    They have two children, Pam Wilson and her husband, Mike, and Brett Wilgus.
    They also have one grandson, Ben Wilson and his wife, Danielle.
    Mr. Wilgus is retired after 30 years as a field examiner and field supervisor with the State Board of Accounts.

  • Kevin and Bridget Goffinet

    Kevin and Bridget Goffinet of Bristow celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary July 19, 2011.
    Mr. Goffinet married the former Bridget Heeke of Evanston July 19, 1986, in Mackville, Ky.
    The couple have two children, Grant and his wife, Mary, and Grace. They also have two grandchildren, Lilly and Maggie.
    Mr. and Mrs. Goffinet celebrated the occasion with dinner and a play, and cake and ice cream with their parents, grandparents, children and granddaughters. They will also take a Caribbean cruise.
    Mr. Goffinet is employed at Coca-Cola in Jasper.
