Anniversaries

The church family and friends of the Rev. Lewis and Glenna Garrett helped celebrate the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at the Cannelton Freewill Baptist Church.

The Garretts were married Nov. 17, 1951, in Jamestown, Tenn., by the late Rev. Willie F. Wright.
They are the parents of two children, Kendall Garrett of Hawesville, Ky., and Bonita (Garrett) Epley of Mount Pleasant, Iowa. They also have eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

David and Kathryn Hammond of Tell City will mark their 45th wedding anniversary Nov. 4, 2011.

Mr. Hammond married the former Kathryn Kleeman Nov. 4, 1966, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.
The couple has three children, Todd Hammond and his wife, Jaime of Tell City, Kurt Hammond and his wife, Lori of Tell City and Amy Layman and her husband, Geoff of Granger.
They are the grandparents of Will, Jack and Karson Hammond and Grace, Caroline and Kate Layman.

Paul and Margaret Goffinet celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City Aug. 27, 2011.

The former Margaret Kelsey and Paul Goffinet were married Aug. 26, 1961, at St. Paul Catholic Church.
Their attendants were Margaret Hobbs and Adrian Goffinet.
Paul and Margaret are the parents of three children, Daniel Goffinet of Tell City, Steven Goffinet of Ferdinand and the late James Goffinet.

Darrel and Lois Maxine Cotton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family at Patti’s Place in Grand Rivers, Ky.

Mr. Cotton and the former Lois Maxine Risse were united in marriage Sept. 16, 1961.
They have two daughters Valerie (Cotton) Karpowicz and her husband, Matt Karpowicz and Sonia (Cotton) Bryant, all of Evanston. The couple also has five grandchildren, Brandon Karpowicz of French Lick, Brittney Karpowicz of Evanston, Jennifer Bryant of Newburgh and Nick Bryant and Amanda Bryant, both of Evanston.
