  • John and Jean Dolezal

    John and Jean Dolezal will celebrate their 50th anniversary Saturday, Aug. 3, on a dining car in the Railroad Museum at French Lick. Kathy Joaquin, the couple’s daughter, will host the celebration.

    John Dolezal and the former Jean Meagher were married at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church Aug. 3, 1953.
    They have two daughters, Kathy Joaquin and her husband, Jaime, of San Antonio, Texas, and Beth Teller and her husband, Jonathan, of Clearwater, Fla. They also have three grandchildren, Mark and Daniel Joaquin and Erin Johnson.

  • David and Bessie Werne

    David and Bessie Werne of St. Meinrad will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at 5 p.m. June 15, 2013, with a Mass at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. A celebration will follow the Mass for invited guests. Invitations have been sent.

    Mr. Werne married the former Bessie Phelps June 1, 1963, at St. Meinrad Cath-olic Church. Attendants were Dalene (Pekingpaugh) Arnett, Carolyn (Anderson) Etienne, Martha (Werne) Tempel, Mary Werne, Dennis Werne and the late Darrel Phelps.
    The couple has one son, Barry Werne of Evansville, and two grandsons.

    Oscar and Marilyn Mullis of Siberia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, April 20, 2013.

  • Tom and Carol Vaal

    Mr. and Mrs. Tom Vaal of St. Meinrad will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 4, 2013. A Mass of Thanksgiving will be said at St. Meinrad Catholic Church at 2 p.m.

    An open house and reception will immediately follow at the Fulda Sportsman Club. The couple requests no gifts.

  • Sylvester and Marion Lindauer

    Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Lindauer will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary April 20, 2013. An open house will be from 3 to 8 p.m. April 27 at the St. Meinrad Legion to honor the couple. They have requested no gifts.

    Mr. Lindauer married the former Marion Feltner April 20, 1963, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. They are the parents of four children, Janie Oeding of Ferdinand, Brenda Henke of Ferdinand, Robert Lindauer of Santa Rita, Guam and Mark Lindauer of Sasebo-Shi, Japan. The couple also have 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

  • Wayne and Donna Kleaving

    Wayne and Donna Kleaving of Tell City will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary April 16, 2013. The couple will be honored with an open house from noon to 4 p.m. April 14 at the St. Mark Church Parish Center, Highway 145.

    Mr. Kleaving married the former Donna Leistner April 16, 1988, at St. Theresa Church in Evansville. The couple have one son, Travis, at home.
    Mr. Kleaving is a self-employed farmer and works part time at Best Home Furnishings in Cannelton. Mrs. Kleaving is an administrative assistant at Lincoln Hills Development Corp.

  • Fosters mark romantic anniversary

    Cletus and Louise Foster celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary with a surprise private romantic dinner prepared by the staff of Oakwood Health Campus.

  • Albert and Paula Peter

    Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peter of Tell City will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, March 2, 2013.

    Albert “Bud” Peter and the former Paula Phelps were married at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City March 2, 1963. Their maid of honor was Lynda Delaisse and the best man was James Howe.

  • John and Robin Smitson

    In celebration of their 30th wedding anniversary, John Edward Smitson Jr. and Robin Smitson will renew their wedding vows at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Tell City Church of Nazarene.

    Family and friends are invited to attend.
    A small reception will be held following the ceremony in the fellowship hall of the church.

  • Marion and Patricia Saalman

    Marion “M.J.” and Patricia Saalman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 31, 2012.

    Mr. Saalman and the former Patricia Goffinet were married Dec. 31, 1962, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. The wedding party included maid of honor Charlotte Smith, bridesmaid Sandy Karney, best man Ronald Smith and groomsman Robert Goffinet.
    The couple has four children, Scott Saalman of Jasper, Patrick Saalman of Tell City and the late Kimberly and Kristie Saalman. The also have two grandchildren, Austin and Delaney Saalman.
