  • Larry and Margaret Schank

    Larry and Margaret (May) Schank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 2, 2011, at the Tell City American Legion with many friends and relatives in attendance.

    The couple were married July 4, 1961, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton.
    They have two children, Brian Schank and his wife, Becky, of Cannelton and Julia Schank Kunkler and her husband, Bill, of Evansville. The couple also has six grandchildren, Eric and Clinton Schank, and Michaela, Jonah, Levi and Caleb Kunkler.

  • John and Betty Wilgus

    Mr. and Mrs. John Wilgus of Tell City celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 24, 2011.
    The couple were married June 24, 1951, at Troy Christian Church in Troy.
    They have two children, Pam Wilson and her husband, Mike, and Brett Wilgus.
    They also have one grandson, Ben Wilson and his wife, Danielle.
    Mr. Wilgus is retired after 30 years as a field examiner and field supervisor with the State Board of Accounts.

  • Kevin and Bridget Goffinet

    Kevin and Bridget Goffinet of Bristow celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary July 19, 2011.
    Mr. Goffinet married the former Bridget Heeke of Evanston July 19, 1986, in Mackville, Ky.
    The couple have two children, Grant and his wife, Mary, and Grace. They also have two grandchildren, Lilly and Maggie.
    Mr. and Mrs. Goffinet celebrated the occasion with dinner and a play, and cake and ice cream with their parents, grandparents, children and granddaughters. They will also take a Caribbean cruise.
    Mr. Goffinet is employed at Coca-Cola in Jasper.

  • Al and Kathleen Hauenstein

    Al and Kathleen Hauenstein celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary May 20, 2011, with a celebration hosted by their children at Lynn’s Paradise Café in Louisville, Ky.

    Mr. Hauenstein married the former Kathleen Snyder May 20, 1951, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.
    They are the parents of Carol Henke of Greenwood, Jan Hauenstein of Scottsdale, Ariz., David Hauenstein of Elizabethtown, Ky., Nena Manci of Franklin, Tenn., Sarah Manci of New Bremen, Ohio, and John Hauenstein of Tell City.

  • Jerome and Marlene Kunkler

    Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Kunkler of Tell City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, June 18 with a 1 p.m. Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church, St. Marks, followed by an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. Mark Parish Center next to the church.

    Jerome “Pete” Kunkler and the former Marlene Jasper were married at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church at Ferdinand, June 17, 1961.

  • Kermit and Norma Quick

    Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Quick of Tell City celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows March 21, 2011, at Hemlock Hills in Gatlinburg, Tenn.

    A celebration was also held in their honor and hosted by their family after the ceremony. The Rev. Seff Ounby officiated the vow-renewal ceremony.
    Mr. Quick married the former Norma Briggeman Feb. 20, 1971, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.

  • Richard and Marietta Peter

    Mr. and Mrs. Richard Peter of Aloe Road, Tell City, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday with a reception hosted by their children at the Perry County Fairgrounds.

    Mr. Peter and the former Marietta N. “Nellie” McCallister were wed April 29, 1961, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton.

  • Kay and Robert Bertl

    Kay and Robert Bertl celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Santa’s Lodge Celebration Room April 2 with family and friends.

    The dinner was hosted by their children, Brooks Bertl and his wife, Melinda, Jaynie Ellis, and Victor Bertl.
    The couple were married April 1, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Anderson. The Rev. Melvin Phillips officiated the ceremony.
     

  • Danny and Tammy Medcalf

    Danny and Tammy Medcalf of Dale will celebrate their 30-year wedding anniversary Monday.

    Mr. Medcalf married Tammy Simpson April 4, 1981, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.
    The couple have three children, Mathew Medcalf of Dale, Jennifer Medcalf of Columbus, Ohio, and Sean Medcalf of Terre Haute.
    Mr. Medcalf is the owner of M & M Concrete and Mrs. Medcalf is cafeteria manager at Tecumseh Junior-Senior High School.
    The couple recently celebrated their anniversary by taking their family on a trip to the West.
     

  • Alvin and Gertrude Malone

    Alvin and Gertrude Malone celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Feb. 26, 2011.

    Alvin and the former Gertrude Rogier were married Feb. 25, 1946, in Leopold. Their attendants were Robert and Tom Rogier, Emogene Faulkenberg and Leona Schwartz.
    Mr. Malone, a World War II veteran, is retired from Mulzer Crushed Stone. Mrs. Malone worked in Evansville riveting airplanes during World War II and is a retired homemaker.
