  • Rick and Sharon Taylor

    Rick and Sharon Taylor of Bristow will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary Nov. 3 at the St. Meinrad Legion Post with an open house hosted by their children.

    The event will be held from noon to 5 p.m. with dinner served at 1 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend.
    Mr. Taylor married the former Sharon Prueher Oct. 23, 1982, in Siberia. The couple has three children, Brian Taylor, Tim Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor. They also have four grandchildren.
    Mrs. Taylor works at Kimball in Santa Claus.

    Mr. and Mrs. Roy D. Yoho, formerly of Cannelton, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Sept. 6, 2012. A celebration in honor of the anniversary was held at the home of their son, Ron, in Woodbridge, Va., where the couple now resides.

    Merl and Irene (Hagedorn) Gelarden celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Sept. 9, 2012.

    The couple were married Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1947, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church. They are the parents of eight children, David Gelarden, Ella Rose Scott, Stephen Gelarden, John Gelarden, Susan Carpenter, Mary Jo Waninger, Patrick Gelarden and Philip Gelarden.
    They have 28 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

  • Joseph and Marie Butler

    Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Butler Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Church of the Nazarene, 17 Lausanne Court in Tell City.

    Mr. Butler married the former Marie McFarling Sept. 21, 1962, at Hawesville Baptist Church in Hawesville, Ky.
    The couple are the parents of Mary Pepp of Mount Vernon, Brenda Terry of Owensboro, Ky., Debbie Butler of Cecilia, Ky., Joe Butler Jr. of Tell City and Ricky Butler of Tell City. They have 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

  • Donald and Ruth Buckthal

    The Rev. Donald and Ruth Buckthal celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Friday, Sept. 7, 2012.
    The couple were married Sept. 7, 1947 at Immanuel E & R Church in East St. Louis, Ill.
    They are the parents of Diana Winston (Allan), Paul Buckthal (Nancy) and Dr. David Buckthal. Their grandchildren are Dr. Jill McCuin (Brandon), Joshua Winston (Cindy), Craig Buckthal (Ana), Eric Buckthal (Tiffany) and Dr. Julia Honold (Justin). They have eight great-grandchildren.

  • Earl and Olivia Leistner

    Earl Leistner and Olivia (Hildenbrand) Leistner celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 29, 2012, at their home in New Boston with cake and ice cream with their family.
    Mr. and Mrs. Leistner were married Aug. 29, 1942, at Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church in Mount Vernon. Their attendants were Leon (Hildenbrand) Leistner and Roland Lautner.
    Mr. Leistner is retired from the Spencer County Highway Department as a foreman since 1983. Mrs. Leistner enjoyed being a housewife and is still waiting to retire.

    Brian and Juanita Cooper celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 19, 2012.

    They were married Aug. 19, 1952, in Keywest, Fla.
    The couple also celebrated the 71st birthday of Mrs. Cooper’s sister, Alice Fowler.

    Charles and Virginia Polster will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012.
    The family extends an open house invitation to all from 4 to 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
    The couple are the parents of Bryan and Anne Polster of Los Altos Hills, Calif., John and Tammy Williams Kay, Charles Klewin and Cathy and Don Hitz, all of Santa Claus.
    They have nine grandchildren, Adam and Casey William, Laura, Emma, Camille Polster, Hannah Klewin and Olivia, Gabe and Jordan Hitz.

    Brian and Sandra “Sam” Hess of Tell City will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Aug. 15, 2012.

    Mr. and Mrs. Brian Hess were married Aug. 15, 1987, in Lewisport, Ky.
    The couple has two children, Kelly and Jenny, both of Tell City.
    Both Mr. and Mrs. Hess are employed at Joe & Linda’s Radio Sales in Cannelton. Everyone is invited to stop in and wish them a happy 25th anniversary.

    Larney Earl and Joyce Ann Greenwood will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, with a 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. A reception will follow at the couple’s home, 1236 Main St., Tell City. Parking will be available in the back alley.

    All relatives, family and friends are invited to attend and asked to take a covered dish if they can.
