  • Mary and Gordie Aders

    Mary and Gordie Aders will celebrate 50 years of marriage Sept. 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Depot. The event will be hosted their daughters Gloria Whitlock and Kathy Brenton.

    They were originally married Oct. 1, 1966.

    Their four children are Gloria (Dan) Whitlock, of Roswell, Ga., Kathy Brenton of Brownsburg, the late LeRoy Aders and the late Dawn Zoglman.  They have 13 grandchildren and six surrogate grandchildren.

    They are both retired from General Electric.

    They ask for no gifts, but the presence of family and friends.

  • Kathleen and James Ebert

    James and Kathleen Ebert of St. Meinrad will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, Aug. 19 with a private gathering. James Ebert and the former Kathleen Seng were married Aug. 19, 1966, in St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois with Fr. Raymond Schroering officiating.

    The Eberts are the parents of four children: Julie (Ebert) Becher of Mariah Hill, Jeff Ebert of St. Meinrad, Jill Ebert-Lasher of Evanston and Kim Ebert-Zink of Raleigh, N.C. They have 11 grandchildren.

  • Jean and Jack Boyce

    Jack and Jean (Franchville) Boyce, of Shelbyville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 30.


  • Peirce-Hedinger

    Jeri Brianne Peirce and James Hedinger of Tell City announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Elaine Peirce and the late James Peirce of Tell City. The future groom is the son of Sherrie and Charlie Davis and the late Todd Hedinger of Cannelton.

    The ceremony will take place on Aug. 20, 2016, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton at 2 p.m. The reception will follow, at the 4-H Fairgrounds.

  • Janet and Jack Mulder

    Janet and Jack Mulder of Tell City celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary June 3. They were married June 3, 1956, at Mt. Lebanon Church in Sharpsville.

    They have four children, Anita Baker of Tell City, Melvin Mulder of San Antonio, Texas, Susan Mulder of Evansville and Angela Rust of Tell City. They have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

  • Linda and Donald Hubert

    Linda and Donald Hubert will celebrate their 50th anniversary July 4. They were married July 4, 1966, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold.

    They are the parents of Chris (Lora), Vince (Jamie) and Nathan (Brittany Howell). They have six grandchildren, Hillary, Ryan, Jaxson and Weston Hubert, Kyra Roberts and Peyton Howell.

    Donald retired from union carpentry in 2004 and Linda retired from PSC in St. Meinrad in 2009.

  • Lana and Terry Poole

    Lana and Terry Poole of Cannelton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 2. They were married July 2, 1966, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. 

    The couple have three children, Brett of Pass-a-Grille, Fla., Julie of Hawesville, Ky. and Jason of Cannelton; eight grandchildren, Kelsey Hanks, Caitlin and Lauren Coyle, Brittney, Courtney, Breanna and Tasha Poole and Raegann Masterson; and three great-grandchildren, Owen Esarey, Luci and Camden Hanks.

  • Darla and Frank Groves

    Darla and Frank Groves of Tell City plan to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with family at a later date.

    Frank and the former Darla Mullis were married May 26, 1956, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tell City.

    They are the parents of Dean Groves, of Tell City, Scott Groves of Evansville and Julie Dantic of Richmond, Ky. They have five grandchildren.

    Frank retired from Commonwealth in 1995 and Darla retired from GE in 1994.

  • Lynda and Donald Hess

    Lynda and Donald Hess of Derby celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary June 12, 2016. The couple was married June 12, 1976, at St. Augustine Church in Leopold.

    They have three children, Kristel Kratzer of Derby, Jennifer Patrick and Jason Hess, both of Tell City, and three grandchildren, Alexis Kratzer and Alyssa and Lillian Patrick.

    Donald is employed at Mulzer Crushed Stone and Lynda is employed at Perry Central Schools.

  • Jeanne and Philip Wittmer

    Jeanne and Philip Wittmer will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary June 10, 2016.

    They were married June 10, 1966, in Fort Wayne, where Phil was a college student at Purdue University and Indiana Institute of Technology and Jeanne was beginning her teaching career at East Noble High School in Kendallville.

    After having later lived in Howard County, in and near Kokomo, they retired to Perry County in 2007, where Phil was a graduate of the Tell City Class of 1963.
