  • Brown completes basic training

    PENSACOLA, Fla. – Jessica Brown completed Navy basic training Jan. 25 and is now stationed in Pensacola.

    She is a 2011 graduate of Springs Valley High School in French Lick. She is the daughter of Kent Brown of Troy and Patricia Johnson of French Lick.
    Her grandparents are Geraldine Brown of Troy and James Brown of St. Croix.

  • Scherzer completes Marine recruit training at Parris Island

    PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. – Marine Corps Pvt. Kyle R. Scherzer, son of Dale and Stacy Scherzer of Haubstadt and grandson of Robert and Margie Scherzer of New Boston, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot at Parris Island.

  • Herzog completes Marine recruit training

    PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. – Marine Corps PFC Spencer J. Herzog graduated from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Deport, Parris Island Nov. 21.

    The 13-weeek course included close-order drill, marksmanship with M-16A4 riffles, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies. Herzog was also honored with an award for the highest shooter in his platoon.

  • Harpenau recognized with Cargill Kitchen Solutions Eagle Award

    MONTICELLO, Minn. – Cargill Kitchen Solutions, headquartered in Monticello, recognized eight employee stakeholders with its annual Eagle Award. Travis Harpenau of Mason City, Iowa, was one of the stakeholders recognized.

  • Pannett completes Army basic training in Georgia

    FORT BENNING, Ga. – Pfc. Robby Pannett completed Army basic training Oct. 19 at Fort Benning. He also graduated from the U.S. Army Airborne Nov. 8 at Fort Benning.
    He is currently stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and enrolled in the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School.
    Pannett is a 2009 graduate of Tell City High School.

  • Bryant completes Marine recruit training

    PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. – Marine Corps Pvt. Elijah J. Bryant, son of Donna and John Bryant of Tell City, earned the title of United States Marine after graduating from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S. C.

  • Roberts recognized as finalist in Georgia best dentist category

    ALPHARETTA, Ga. – Dr. Sarah Roberts, the former Sarah Kraus, was recently recognized as a finalist in the 2012 Answer Book best dentist category that covers north Fulton and south Forsyth in Georgia.
    Roberts office, Crabapple Dental, is located at 12670 Crabapple Road, Suite 110 in Alpharetta, Ga.
    Roberts is a graduate of Tell City High School. She is also a graduate of Purdue University School of Pharmacy and a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry.

  • LaGrange graduates Army AIT

    FORT SILL, Okla. – Ryan LaGrange, 19, of Tell City has completed 10 weeks of Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Sill. This follows completion of basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C., last summer between his junior and senior years of high school.

    LaGrange graduated with the military occupational specialty of field artillery surveyor-meteorological crew members. They are responsible for monitoring weather conditions and patterns so artillery units can fire and launch missiles accurately.

  • Huthsteiner graduates from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base

    SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Air Force Airman Neil D. Huthsteiner graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

  • Gibson graduates from basic infantry training

    COLUMBUS, Ga. – Army Pvt. Logan A. Gibson has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus.
    During the nine weeks of training, Gibson received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
