TELL CITY - Tell City guard Ryan Zuelly was named to the All-PAC boys basketball team Monday in voting by conference coaches.

Zuelly, a 6-foot senior, led the Marksmen in scoring at 14.8 points per game, in assists with 3.6 per game, and in free-throw shooting at 75.5 percent.

He averaged 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

He hit 42.0 percent from the field, including 33.9 percent from three-point range.

Tell City Coach John Hayes was pleased Zuelly made the team but said he was disappointed he was the only Marksman on the 10-man honor squad.

"Joseph (Kohnert) missed 10th place by one stinking point. I thought he was a top-five player in the conference.

"I had a couple of coaches tell me that what hurt us was how balanced we were."

While some teams had one 20-point scorer and no one else in double figures, the Marksmen had four players averaging between 14.8 and 11.1 points per game.

Besides Zuelly, their other three double-figure scorers were Kohnert, Andy Chinn and Eric Henrickson.

Those three were among 10 players receiving honorable mention for all-conference.

"I think Joseph led the conference in rebounding (averaging 7.4 per game) or was second to (Forest Park center Jordan) Myers, had the most blocks, and averaged over three assists a game as well as averaging over 12 points a game," said Hayes.

Tecumseh, Forest Park and South Spencer each placed two players on the all-conference squad.

Tecumseh won the nine-team conference with a 7-1 record and Forest Park placed second at 6-2.

But South Spencer tied for sixth place at 3-5 while Tell City tied for third at 5-3.

Gibson Southern, which tied South Spencer, and North Posey, which finished last, were the only teams to have no one make all-conference.

Tecumseh guard Zach Adams was the top vote-getter on the team for the second year in a row.

Other repeaters from last year's team Heritage Hills guard Tony Butcher, Tecumseh forward Kreig Oxley, and South Spencer guard Keith Haaff.

Adams and Haaff each made the team for the third year in a row.
