Wisdom Day Oct. 1 to feature Mark Ginter

HUNTINGBURG – Theologian Mark Ginter Ph. D will be a featured speaker at the Jasper Deanery’s annual Wisdom Day Oct. 1 at the Huntingburg Event Center.
Ginter and his wife, Diane, reside in Ferdinand and are the parents of seven children. He is president of St. Joseph’s Holy Family, Inc., an apostolate headquartered in Bristow, with the mission of renewing family life.
He has taught at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology; Sacred Heart School of Theology in Hales Corners, Wis., and John Paul the Great Catholic High School.
He received his doctorate in theology and society from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., in 1997. In 2007 he was listed among Marquette’s 20 Outstanding Theology Alumni.
He has written numerous scholarly articles, and his favorite topic for teaching and learning is the philosophy and theology of Pope John Paul II, whom he met in Rome in January 2005.
The title of Ginter’s Wisdom Day presentation will be “The Day I Sang for the Pope.”
Wisdom Day is sponsored by the Diocese of Evansville for all men and women age 55 and older. This one-day event has been established to thank attendees for their contributions to others. Opportunities for spiritual growth, health, stewardship and humor will fill the day’s agenda.
Lunch, for which a free will offering will be taken, will be served by Sanders? Catering.
Registration will open at 8 a.m. and a light breakfast will be available. Pat Koch will begin the program and welcome other special guests including Charles C. Thompson, Bishop of Evansville; Toby A. Harmon, Doctor of Chiropractic and Vincennes University-Jasper Professor Angie Mayfield.
