Darlene G. (Hook) Wilson and Phil E. Litherland of Tell City were united in marriage, Saturday, June 11, 2011, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Tell City.
The bride is the daughter of the late William “Bill” Hook and Carrie Hook of Tell City. Mr. Litherland is the son of Jim and Jean Litherland of Tell City.
The bride was given away by her mother, Carrie Hook, in the double-ring ceremony officiated by Pastor Eddie Fruehwald.
Bridget Lee of Crystal Springs, Miss., daughter of the bride, was the matron of honor. Madeline Lee, of Crystal Springs, granddaughter of the bride, was miniature bride. Bridesmaids were Memori Wilson, daughter of the bride and Mary Ann Hughes and Becky Peter, sisters of the groom, both of Tell City. Alyssa Howell, great-niece of the groom, was flower girl.
Corey Litherland, son of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Trent Litherland, son of the groom and Tom Hughes and Larry Peter, brothers-in-law of the groom, both of Tell City. Billy Seifert, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer. Ushers were Larry Lee, son-in-law of the bride, of Crystal Springs and Brandon Hughes, nephew of the groom, of Tell City.
Vocalist for the ceremony was Janella Fruehwald, who sang, “The Rose” and during the lighting of the unity candle Fruehwald sang “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Organist for the wedding ceremony was Jane Upmeyer, who played selections chosen by the bride, “From This Moment,” “I Cross My Heart,” “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “Wind Beneath My Wings.”
Nieces of the groom Katelyn Hughes and Tori Peter of Tell City handed out programs to guests and distributed bubbles at the end of the ceremony.
A reception was held at the American Legion Post in Tell City following the ceremony. Attendants at the reception were Brenda Messer of Louisville, Ky., and Teresa Seifert of Tell City, sisters of the bride, and Miss Messer of Louisville served cake to the guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Phil Litherland honeymooned at Pensacola Beach, Fla., where they stayed for five days. The new Mr. and Mrs. Litherland reside in Tell City.
