The students and families of William Tell Elementary grew a community garden this summer.
The students enjoyed sharing the fruits and vegetables they grew with people in the community. Ben Rogier, pictured on the plow, was a key component to the garden’s success, according to school staff. He not only shared gardening skills and plants he grew, he also tilled and fenced around the garden. Rogier stopped by the school’s garden Oct. 24 to demonstrate primitive methods of gardening by plowing the garden with horses and an antique plow. The students enjoyed petting the animals and hearing a lesson of earlier years of farming from Ron Cronin.
