Weekend Cedar Valley Fest offers top bluegrass names

-A A +A
By Janet Robb

DERBY - Bluegrass music will fill the Derby area this weekend as the Cedar Valley Bluegrass Festival returns.

The festival was moved back to the second weekend in July, festival coordinator Dennis Howell said, after last year's fest coincided with the Fourth of July weekend and didn't draw the usual 600 to 700 visitors. But this year he expects numbers to be high.

"We're looking for a bigger crowd this year," he said. "I've gotten calls from people in Texas, South Carolina and Michigan."
