Wagner wins four events as Tell City 3rd at Jasper

TELL CITY—Amanda Wagner won two individual events and two relays to lead Tell City to third place in the nine-team Wildcat Invitational girls swim meet Saturday.

Wagner won the 100-yard freestyle in 58.03 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.11.

She teamed with Chelsea Malone, Erika Hauenstein and C.J. Fentress to win the 200 medley relay in 1:59.66.

Those same four girls won the 200 free relay in 1:48.06.

Malone placed second in the 50 free in 26.33.

Hauenstein took third in the 200 individual medley in 2:31.01. Teammate Bailey Malone was just two-hundredths of a second behind her in fourth place.

Hauenstein was fourth in the 500 free in 5:50.35 and Chelsea Malone took fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.08.

Bailey Malone, Charissa Lahee, Jessica Ballman and Alyson Goffinet placed sixth in the 400 free relay in 4:25.30.

Fentress placed sixth in the 200 free in 2:17.23 and seventh in the 100 free in 1:02.69.

Other Marksmen finishing the top 12:

200 free: Goffinet 12th, 2:27.62

50 free: Ballman 8th, 29.21; Lahee 9th, 29.27

100 butterfly: Bailey Malone 10th, 1:12.82

500 free: Amber Fentress 11th, 6:41.15; Loren Braunecker 12th, 7:10.02

100 backstroke: Amber Fentress 11th, 1:17.63; Ballman 12th, 1:17.72

Tell City, 14-8, is off until Jan. 7.
