Volunteers needed to ring bells

PERRY COUNTY – Does the name Randy Roccia ring a bell?

He’s the kettle coordinator for the Perry County chapter of the Salvation Army, and he seeks volunteers at this time every year to ring bells next to the organization’s famous red kettles.

“Perhaps you, your family, business, church, club or civic organization would be willing to ring bells for us this season,” he said.

Bell ringers will be needed starting at midnight Nov. 28 for “Black Friday” specials, then 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. every day through Dec. 24.

Roccia can be reached at rnrroccia@comcast.net or at his cell-phone number, (812) 319-1861. Ninety percent of the money collected stays right here in Perry County, he said, and large donations from businesses or civic donations will also be gladly accepted.
