PERRY COUNTY – United Way of Perry County is sponsoring its eighth annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive for this area’s students in need.
United Way, Wal-Mart, and area volunteers are partnering to collect donations of much needed school supplies for all Perry County school corporations and Perry County Head Start.
Last year’s two-day event gathered more than 4,485 items valued at approximately $4,096.
The United Way encourages everyone to help fill the backpacks of the hundreds of children in the community who need supplies for school.
“Stuff the Bus” will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 25 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at the Tell City Wal-Mart.
Donations will be accepted by volunteers both days. All supplies will be distributed to children in need by the local schools.
Local businesses are encouraged to have their own “Stuff the Bus” collections. Volunteers will be available to pick up donations prior to July 25.
