TELL CITY - The Tell City Board of Public Works and Safety gave a green light Sept. 21 to an electric-department request to survey and appraise a 2.3-acre parcel of land it wants to purchase for a proposed new substation.
Marlow Smethurst, superintendent of the Tell City Electric Department, said the new site on the northeast side of Tell City along Spring Road would serve areas in and near the city that will likely see development in coming years, including land that might be annexed into the city.
