County officials canceled just before 2 p.m. a state of emergency declared this morning.
Perry County was placed under a state of emergency shortly after 10 a.m. Friday due to icy roads.
The county commissioners provided the News a proclamation "encouraging all citizens of Perry County ... to be alert of the road conditions and refrain from travel on the ice-covered roadways unless absolutely necessary."
They weren't closing any roads, the document noted, but the officials were "asking citizens not to travel if possible."
The emergency proclamation will remain in effect until canceled.
