TELL CITY – Before funding a program or making a donation, grant makers, donors and the public want to know the results. They may ask about impact or the objectives of a nonprofit’s programs. United Way of Perry County is offering a free workshop for local nonprofits to delve into outcomes measurement in more detail in order to learn how to increase funding. “Measuring Outcomes and Increasing Funding: Beyond the Basics” will be presented Aug. 30 by June Miller, director of the Indiana NonProfit Resource Network at Fifth Third Bank Community Room in Tell City. The meeting will begin at 11:15 a.m. and will conclude at 2 p.m.
This lunch-and-learn workshop will be a bring your own brown bag lunch with beverages provided by United Way of Perry County.
Attendees will learn how to measure the “unmeasureable,” the difference between indicators and outcomes, real-life examples of how organizations measure outcomes and much more. Participants will practice completing a logic model for a program of their choice and talk about what grant makers and other funders are looking for.
Although the workshop is free, space is limited so the deadline to register is Aug. 24.
Registration forms are available on the United Way of Perry County’s Web site at www.unitedwayperryco.org and on their Facebook page. Forms may also be requested via e-mail by contacting Rebecca Fenn, at email@example.com.
