United Way accepting applications for funding

Organizations have until Feb. 27 to submit requests

TELL CITY – Health and human-service organizations are invited to apply for funding from the United Way of Perry County. Applications are available at the United Way office at 1012 31st St. in Tell City or by calling 547-2577.

Last year the United Way distributed more than $71,500 to health and human-service organizations that provide services in Perry County.

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. Feb. 27. Applications received after the deadline or those incomplete will not be considered.  Applicants must have 501c3 tax status.

The mission of the United Way of Perry County is to provide leadership and resources to community organizations that are working to fulfill the health and human-service needs of Perry County.  

The United Way is governed by a local board of trustees and all funding requests are reviewed by members of the local community.  

In addition to funding it gives to area health and human-service organizations, United Way of Perry County also coordinates the Holiday Helpers United Christmas Assistance Program, Days of Caring community-volunteering days, the Perry County Food Coalition, the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive, FamilyWize Discount Prescription Card program and the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
