PERRY COUNTY - Two candidates, one a Republican, another a Democrat, have filed for seats on the county's board of commissioners.
Brian Steen, a Republican, filed this week for the District 1 seat held by Democrat Don Sherry. Bradley Lynch, a Democrat of rural English, filed for the District 3 seat now held by Jody Fortwendel, also a Democrat. Lynch and Fortwendel will face each other in the May 6 primary.
Steen, who is unopposed thus far in the Republican primary, said Perry Countians need leaders with ideas to help the county grow and prosper.
