DUBOIS—Perry Central committed 19 turnovers in a season-opening 34-27 freshman basketball loss to Northeast Dubois Monday.
The Commodores led until the final four minutes. Then “we just kept turning the ball over and not getting good shots,” said Perry Central Coach Bob Linne.
“Defensively we didn’t stop the ball,” he added. “They beat us to the basket on drives way too often, and they were not quicker than us.”
Trey Mullis had 11 points and six rebounds to lead Perry Central.
Luke Hilgenhold and Lane Lynch each added six points. Lynch and Payton Thompson each had three assists.
Perry Central will host Tell City Monday at 6:30 p.m.
