TROY - Concerned the town's part-time marshal isn't doing enough in return for his salary, Troy's clerk-treasurer and some members of the town council discussed doing away with the position altogether next year.
"I think the town's money can be spent better elsewhere," Clerk-Treasurer Vicki Tuggle said at the Dec. 12 meeting of the council. Junior Fuchs, who has been the town's marshal for the past couple of years, isn't available enough, Tuggle said, and has not returned calls from residents wanting to report violations of town ordinances or other complaints.
