ST. CROIX - A tip that a Perry County man was violating terms of his probation led state police Thursday to Okalona Road, where they made two arrests.

According to ISP Sgt. Chad Dick, troopers received information that Roy W. McCormick, 58, of 28593 Okalona Road, was violating terms of his probation.

McCormick met troopers as they arrived at his residence and while conducting the search, a large amount of controlled substances were located.

Police said generic versions of Xanax, hydrocodone and Provigil were found in McCormick's possession.

While the troopers were at the residence, a truck driven by Kenneth N. Wright, 48, of English pulled into the driveway.  After identifying Wright, troopers found him to be wanted on a warrant out of Crawford County on theft charges.

According to Probation Officer Jim Rice, McCormick was on probation for drug charges and part of the terms of his probation state that he would allow the probation officer or a designee to visit him at any time or in any place and that he would waive his Fourth Amendment rights pertaining to searches and seizures.

McCormick was taken to the Perry County Jail and charged with Class D felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug without a prescription and maintaining a common nuisance.

Wright was lodged in the Crawford County Jail.
