Trooper, canine aid meth seizure

DALE - Perry County-based Trooper Mark Lehmkuhler and his narcotics-sniffing dog Brote have had a hand - and paw - in the seizure of several drug caches, but last week's discovery of 5 pounds of methamphetamine was one of their largest.

Cesar Luis Farel Lozano, 26, remains lodged in the Spencer County Jail on $500,000 cash-only bail. According to state police and court documents, Lozano's 2001 Ford Winstar minivan was stopped by Trooper Brian Laroche and Sgt. Kirby Stailey near the 54-mile marker at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
