WHITESVILLE, Ky.—Whitesville Trinity used physical defense to hold Cannelton to 26.2 percent field-goal shooting and beat the Bulldogs 63-48 in boys basketball Saturday.
Cannelton guard Brandon Cook entered the game averaging 28.1 points per game, third best in the state of Indiana. But he was held to nine points—his first game below 18 this season—on 3 of 20 field-goal shooting, including 2 of 9 from three-point range, and 1 of 2 free throws.
In foul trouble much of the game, he played only 22 minutes before fouling out.
