Transition layups lead Rangers past Tell City

FERDINAND—Numerous transition layups helped Forest Park overtake Tell City for a 56-48 PAC girls basketball victory Thursday.
Tell City led 23-20 at halftime but couldn’t put two good halves together because of “missed assignments” on defense, Tell City Coach John Lyons said.
“They probably had 14 points on layups,” he added. “We just didn’t get back (on defense). They beat us down the floor.”
Tell City scored the first basket of the third quarter to increase its lead to five points.
