Mayor promotes 21-year veteran; John Allen new 2nd-in-command

TELL CITY - Praising police officers and dispatchers Monday for "stepping up to the plate" since the late-February retirement of Police Chief David Faulkenberg, Tell City Mayor Barbara Ewing promoted Assistant Chief Greg Hendershot to the rank of chief.

She chose Patrolman John Allen to serve as assistant chief while Alan Malone, the department's detective, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
