Titans romp past Tell City

TELL CITY—Gibson Southern outhit Tell City 18-2 to beat the Marksmen 13-0 in PAC girls softball Thursday.

The Titans, ranked sixth in the state in Class 3A, led only 2-0 after four innings but scored three runs in the fifth and put the game away with seven runs in the seventh.

“They hit the ball well,” said Tell City Coach Dusty Beard.

Tell City’s only hits were a single by Kyli Smithson in the sixth inning and a single by McKenzie Hayes in the seventh.

Josalyn Ress pitched a complete game for Tell City. She struck out one, walked none, and gave up 10 earned runs.

Tell City, 6-7 overall and 1-3 in the PAC, will visit Tecumseh, ranked sixth in the state in Class A, today at 5 p.m.
